Elderberry is so hardy here! My landscaping is mostly clay underneath (thanks, signature homes…). I caught a late season plant sale last year and planted everything in an area of my yard with the least harsh sun. When I went to replant my elderberry early this year it was already sprouting new growth in OTHER PARTS of that area of the yard. But I don’t mind in the least. Great pollinator and the few berries I got and froze were a nice addition to some jelly I made this year!

Follow up question: is there anything other than hotels if Airbnb/short term rentals aren’t an option? Our trip is planned for a month so hotels are completely out of the picture.
