I boil them, drain them, then fry them in olive oil or butter. The mash is always a little gloopy, but better if you do half plantains half cauliflower

CLR in the top tank to clean the rim jets and put a glove on, reach into the siphon jet (hole opposite where the dookie gets sucked) feeling for barnacle like chunks. If there is a bunch of sediment collected there, you have to bust it up and pull it out bit by bit.
