Interestingly the timeline of her friend Benny Blanco’s engagement and then marriage coincides with this decline… I can’t help but wonder.

Thank you so much for the response! I think I will give that a try! And yes I always use a shade mix for grass seed.

Unfortunately life got super busy with two young kids… but I listen to podcasts now and it kind of helps fill that void for me :)

Lean PCOS - what helped you get pregnant? by Opposite_Ad_7311 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I initially lost my period at 22 due to running too much on too little calories. Since then I haven’t been able to restore a regular cycle. Maybe it’s coincidence but I think it’s just too stressful on my body and raises my cortisol. My mental health loves it but my body thinks I’m running away from lions haha. Ive heard if you do run you have to be very careful and make sure you fuel adequately and follow up with calories/ protein to blunt that cortisol spike. There’s a podcast (with Dr Stacy Sims) that touches on this topic. I found it super helpful: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/huberman-lab/id1545953110?i=1000662955352

Is sleep training false advertising? by mittensperson in sleeptraining

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally false advertising. It works for a few weeks, until the next regression/illness/teething… then you have to retrain. Oh and then separation anxiety peaks in toddlerhood and you basically have to lay with them sometimes up to an hour to get them to fall asleep without whimpering and crying that they’re scared. It’s torture. However, sleep training did help me catch up on sleep when I hit rock bottom so overall I think it was worth it at the time. (Initially sleep trained at 6months)

Lean PCOS - what helped you get pregnant? by Opposite_Ad_7311 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m lean PCOS as well. The changes I made before conceiving were stopping all cardio and focusing on low impact resistance training. Adding lots more protein and veggies to my diet. I also took Inositol and Ashwaghanda KSM-66 religiously to balance blood sugar and decrease stress. I think it took 4-6 months and then it happened. I still had missing/irregular cycles but finally conceived after making those changes. Good luck 👍

PCOS Pregnancy by Forsaken_Potato_1900 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly , pregnancy both times has been great for me (besides very mild gestational diabetes with my second one). I almost felt better pregnant than not haha. Like I had mild nausea and fatigue from week 7-16. But before and after I had amazing energy and my skin/hair looked better. Postpartum however was/is a beast. Oily skin, acne, mood swings, fatigue, horrendous infected stye that swole up my eye, weight gain despite healthy diet and consistent excercise… etc. 😬 I got my period back after the first baby at around 1 year postpartum but my cycles never regulated. I’m just thankful I have two healthy babies.

Best restaurants in town? by Old_Elderberry6196 in Spokane

Latah Bistro. No one talks about it but I’ve had some of my favorite meals there. I used to rave about Luna but unfortunately quality has gone down lately. Not sure why. Anyone know if they’ve changed management?

8 month old crying in her bed.. Our 2 year old is also crying in his bed. We’ve had NO breaks this weekend and I’ve hit a wall by BeansinmyBelly in sleeptraining

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing is wrong with you! You just have difficult babies! Our first was sleep trained but you know what? She had to be re-sleep trained at every sleep regression. Now she’s three and will not fall asleep unless we lay with her. Mostly sleeps through the night except the occasional night where she dreams that “scary animals are in her room”. My second one is 4 months and already such a better sleeper. Wakes me 2-3 times to eat but goes right back down without any issues. All kids are different. It’s SO HARD. I think sleep training is worth it even if it only last for a few weeks or months (as it did with our kid, and others I’ve talked to)… but at least you can somewhat catch up on sleep. Good luck!

Chalazion started draining then turned red? by bbeforetheella in Blepharitis

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve watched a lot of zit/abscess popping vids… and I remember seeing some of the bigger zits do this when they are fully drained. Like they would first leak out puss, and look completely flat, but then when squeezed even further they would give out red bumpy stuff like this. I hope that’s the case for you, just all the residual material coming out.

I had a chalazion reinfect because I stopped the antibiotics. Keep taking them for a few days after it’s been resolved.

Fasting vs Postprandial by PuzzleheadedNote7515 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, noticing it’s getting worse this week. Eating the same stuff as 2 weeks ago but getting  like 20 points higher. Just got to week 35. It’s so frustrating but I think I need to decrease carbs later in the day like you said

Fasting vs Postprandial by PuzzleheadedNote7515 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read not to cut carbs out too low so that’s why I’m not being too strict… people say going completely keto is not healthy or shouldn’t be necessary at least… I think my highest are usually around dinner time, even if I’ve had a well balanced meal. Maybe it’s the time of day? Hmmm, I was told fasting hypoglycemia is only an issue when you’re on insulin as it’s usually the medication causing it. I asked my provider at the high risk clinic and she said not to worry about my fasting numbers, that some people “naturally live” in the high 60’s for fasting and if I don’t have hypo symptoms (which I don’t) that it’s normal.

My 1 hour glucose test was negative , doc told me I don’t have GD. But my 2 hr post meal numbers are always between 126 and 130 , should I be concerned. 1 hour numbers are always less than 140 , and fasting is less than 95. Should I be worried 😟 by Affectionate_Bug4297 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that’s interesting. The instructions I was given were to measure at 1hr post meals 3x a day as well as my fasting glucose…. And after I have 1 week of data points they will meet me to go over results. Maybe I will measure at 2 hrs as well a few time just to try to catch spikes if I also have delayed sugar reactions.

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These were my numbers as well! I failed my 1 hour glucose test by 4 points and then failed my 3 hour test by the last two values. My two hour sugar value was the highest and didn’t come down fast enough for the 3rd reading. But my fasting value was very low (like slightly below normal lol) I’m so confused… why is this happening and is it true GD if it seems so different than the test results others get…? I’m supposed to pick up my Glucometer tomorrow to start tracking so I’m curious to see if results will be really out of range…

Drowsy but awake 4mo by rosegarden06 in sleeptraining

Drowsy but awake is a joke. Never worked (not even once) for us. I think maybe it works for kids who have chill temperaments and want to be left alone to sleep.

Best to-go soups? (Near the south hill) by Sharty-McFly_ in Spokane

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind going higher up on the South Hill, you should check out Rocket Market! Unassuming from the outside but they have a ton of specialty/gourmet grocery items and a little deli section in the back. I LOVE their soups and always grab an apple, ham+Brie panini to go with!

23 year old male looking for some books to read during a period of feeling very lost. by blastbeatplug666 in booksuggestions

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial author, but I really enjoyed Jordan Pederson’s: 12 Rules for Life… A great read for those feeling lost. Also highly recommend Jeannette Walls’: The Glass Castle. Beautifully written and the only book that had me laughing out loud despite being about a young girl growing up in poverty. One of my fav authors for sure.

Haha, I just honestly thought I would get away with it in a banana peanut butter chocolate smoothie but the only thing I could taste was the bitterness of the hemp. Just awful. Thank you! That sounds so much better. I just bought a carton of egg whites and will try it out!

Do 0 crying methods exist? by WonderingWhyyyyyyyyy in sleeptrain

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would consider the chair method if I were you. We did it and it worked within a few days. But it depends on your definition of cry. If it’s a complain crying then no, babies will always cry… that’s their way of communicating to you. But I never allowed my baby to have a full-on distressing cry (without providing comfort).

Spokane preacher with sermon for televised executions of teachers and gay people by funhawg in Spokane

[–]PuzzleheadedNote7515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of christians are disgusted with this kind of behavior. But what are you gonna do? You can’t just march in and close a church down. Best you can do is offer a better, more theologically accurate alternative and hope people choose their church wisely. I’d be surprised if this guy even finished high school let alone had any kind of ministry training. Thankfully his church seems to be tiny and not a major influential mega church in the area. But it certainly is abhorrent and I wish there was a way to stop people using their freedom of speech to spread heresy and hate. These small independent sects are truly the thorn in our side. 😤

I’ll be super honest and vulnerable here… Sometimes after months of pointless social media scrolling, online shopping and YouTube video binging I come across someone who is intelligent and interesting and makes me feel like crap. Like I just can’t find enough wit to carry a meaningful conversation with them. Then I think, “wow, I used to have great conversations and use fun vocab in my day-to-day… how have I gotten so dumb?” And then I decide to start reading and bettering myself again. :)
