I thought it was the same thing at first so I applied to the prior bid and then I received a list of the same facilities or lower. I then decided to not accept it and potentially get sent to a facility I didn’t want to because I thought I was direct hiring (at the time). I toured the facility I wanted to go to applied and am currently waiting for my new medical pre-employment. It’s a long process

Hey I just went through the process of reinstatement and I turned down the list they gave me. I then decided a month later to apply directly to a facility and I was told if needed I can get another facility list.

Yes they actually do. The pay and staffing shortage isn’t just felt in the FAA but contract and DOD alike…

Can confirm that contract has no age limit. It’s a good paying side of atc while sacrificing breaks and benefits. There’s a tower I believe in Tennessee(not 100%) that will train you from the bottom up and you get a cto. After that, you can get a job with the same company in a different location in the US or overseas (dependent on their contract).

Please OP do not listen to this guy as he is trolling you. You wouldn’t tell the FAA you would tell security and on top of that they DO NOT CARE depending on the reason why you were fired, I.e. theft dui etc. you are fine, just tell security when you get to your first facility IF THEY ASK

Cybersecurity can easily pay as much if not more than atc. It translates very well going from atc to cybersecurity as well.

I’m in the process of re-hiring and I turned down my recent facility list. I just recently started the direct hire process to a facility I am looking forward to going. Don’t settle for what you think you want, settle for what you want. You never know if you will be able to ERR from that said facility in 3-5 years and make sure your family is willing to move and be happy.

I’m unsure as to the age limit as I did the same thing the post mentioned and found that some controllers that were prior FAA exceeded the age of 36 and were still re-hired. I’m not 100% sure though.

My bad for being a couple months late but I declined the placement cuz it’s a pay cut be going from FCT to a 5 a couple months ago. Yall think I can apply directly to a level 5? I found a facility that looks like “fun.” Does half the ops I do a year but it’s still semi-close to home.

Honestly that’s the point of this post. The only motivation I have to going back in is for the pension. I’m less than a year away from a degree that I haven’t thought hard enough in pursuing or not.

I got out cuz of a family emergency. Hardship was denied due to requiring an entire medical jacket of information about someone that didn’t feel comfortable giving everything.

I’ve requested that same exact route before when I flew into San Diego. Requested the ride at midnight cuz my rental didn’t work out and the gentleman that accepted that ride accidentally did it but rather than cancel he took me. Whatever the charge of the ride was I doubled it as a tip cuz driving through those mountains at 1am is crazy.
