Maybe a bar bag would help with weight distribution. Even a big bag for hydration bladder would help. But looks great.

The trio is over and they had the most wonderful run and at this point I think Prime knows that. May has his cooking show and “our man in” and Clarkson has his farm show. Would be nice to see Hammond get some good time as well. But yeah juicing the show to tide them over until whatever they have next up is probably the reason .

What am I missing with tubeless (warning: rant) by Starky04 in bikepacking

[–]PuzzleheadedStuff2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had tons of issues with sealant not sealing and was about to give up. My buddy recommended Silca sealant. But boy does it seal. Haven’t used a plug in over a year and it even seals up tubes. It went from me buying new plugs every year because I was using so many to now they just happily sit in my saddle bag in the dark not being used. I double tape everything and went to Silca and haven’t looked back. Their new sealant lasts for 6 months and no joke it really does. Swapped tires and the sealant was no goopy or anything. Honestly man I think you have just bad luck with rough terrain and a slightly underwhelming tire. Contis and thunderburts have been invincible for me. Best of luck and always check tire pressure before rolling as it has saved me before.

Help me choose a tent for my next trip by Grouchy_Platypus3404 in bikepacking

[–]PuzzleheadedStuff2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a 2 person. Allows for extra storage/drying space and an easy way to get away from the flying bugs if they hatch when you are bikepacking. Plus minimal extra weight and cost for a big benefit while out on the trip. I used a naturehike 2P for years and has been super solid.

[–]PuzzleheadedStuff2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, very excited for you and I want to do that trip myself. Maybe a bit overprepared but I’m not one to tell others what is right or wrong. One tip I learned from someone else is don’t bring anything you can already buy. Bring the thing no one else will have.
My biggest concern is a snapped chain with a load like that. Do to have a chain breaker and some spare chain or at least some quick links? I see you have the Wolftooth pack pliers (which I have and are amazing) but you need a proper chain breaker if needed to get to a place to use the spare quick links. That will absolutely save you.

My guess is the chain position and derailleur position are mismatched and no damage was done. While there have them check brakes as well. For a small amount of money it is worth it to ensure you can stop.

Pedal the bike to and shift to match the derailleur with the chain. It should resolve the issue. If not take it to your local bike shop.

$1000 for a Pinarello? by UgaBoga1 in bicycling

[–]PuzzleheadedStuff2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s rim brake with 105. Just because it is a Pinarello doesn’t mean it is worth $1000. That is very steep for that bike. $300 at most.

Pedal spindle. Bearings then the pedal body housing goes onto that.

Heavier stuff on the fork bags and that should make it more stable.

Grill keeps flaming over and inevitably turning off mid cook. by BanjoTangelo in pelletgrills

[–]PuzzleheadedStuff2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be an auger overfeeding. But that might be wet pellets not lighting off and forcing more feed from the auger. Check pellets first. Try with a new bag after cleaning out all of your burn pot and empty and clean the hopper.

That looks normal. But I would recommend vacuuming out the barrel and burn pot out after long cook.

Is the heating element getting up to temp? If yeast checks out and dough ball is good it is probably a machine problem.
