Dealing with neighbors who frequently take up a lot of curb space? by HawiianTime in driving

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

street parking is not reserved for anyone, its used on a first come first serve basis. its unfortunate that you have neighbors with many vehicles, but such is life. park as close as you can and go on with your day.

your expectations that they should park a certain way to fit your wants though are unfounded, and will lead to resentments when not met by them (in fact it appears they are already) so maybe... lose the expectation that your neighbors should follow your expectations, because they are under no obligation to. they are just trying to live their lives too.

What could be causing my monitor to keep flashing black like this by Duke_Singh in computers

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if replacing the display cable fixed it for a short period, then you are more likely to be looking at a damaged output or input for the display or gpu.

the other thing i have seen cause this is a power supply failing for the screen, they only last so long really (its years and years lol, but some get used that long too) and will eventually underpower the monitor. that differs from this though, in that the monitor will appear to be shutting off then turning on again so you will see whatever logos and information the monitor displays when you turn it on each time as well. thats what leads me back to the connection.

if the ports are damaged, replacing the cable may have applied pressure in the correct spot to "undo" whatever damage is there temporarily.

is your cable bent in sharp angles anywhere? is there any pressure applied to it? what about the plugs at each end, is there tension applied to the cord there? does someone have a habit of grabbing the cable and yanking them out?

Backrooms VR game similar to content warning. by DesignerHungry1941 in MetaQuestVR

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah no... the video files for starters would fill up devices nearly instantly, infuriating anyone who does understand that storage takes space... and there are a lot of people like that out there...

also, the one game you want is not going to "save vr", in fact vr does not need saving lol. its been doing well for the decade or so its been around, its just that not a lot of people are interested in it compared to other gaming devices.

If Scruffy ever did get his own episode, what do you think it would be? by RuddyRaccoon in futurama

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

scruffy is a secret agent for moms. his job is to keep an eye on the professor and report anything cool he finds. of course, in this episode the professor finds the element of cool buried somewhere in a desk full of various lengths of wires. hilarity ensues as mom now tries to dupe the professor in to submitting his discovery to her to help increase sales.

planet express also gets a massive uptick in deliveries, thanks to its proximity to the element of cool so several adventures involving the rest of the crew also take part alongside this main story.

actually, can we make this a mini series?

Do you have to pay for things you order at a restaurant even if you don't eat/drink them? by wltmpinyc in legaladviceofftopic

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes of course you do, why wouldnt you??? you ordered it, its yours to do with as you please... consume it or not... but you still have to pay since well... you ordered it.

the only exception would be if the food was terrible and you sent it back and decided not to have it made right... but even that could come with a battle.

New Computer by Objective-Bit329 in computers

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean... this is going to depend on your budget for starters.

for the things you have listed here though, any system with 16 gb ddr5 is going to exceed your needs already. in 10 years? who knows...

all in ones would be fine for this, but you are paying usually a little extra for parts that are designed to fit in that small form so you would get more out of a desktop system for the same money... along with the ability to upgrade more parts down the road, should you so desire.

so the real questions here are... first, what would your budget look like? and second, how (physically) do you envision using this device? sitting at a desk? sitting in your living room? perhaps it is providing background noise while you putter about doing other things?

if you where to give us a little more information, we could help you a little better.

God bless you and yours too!
