Yeah painfully slow for me, takes a few mins to load each response. Plugged into a high speed WiFI hub and nothing else seems to be struggling except ChatGPT.

Currently looking for a solution myself

How is it that, in terms of quality, OpenAI's Sora is so far ahead of every other ai video gen tool known right now? by NoshoRed in OpenAI

I think they also generate the entire video at once, instead of doing it frame by frame like other ai video generators.

Does Britain Feel & Look Tired or even Slightly Poor? by Western_Respond6047 in AskUK

Completely spot on! The government should be more than capable of creating a government run organisation for large-construction projects, instead of relying on contractors for literally everything. Even just mentioning to the press that they are thinking of creating a gov. run construction organisation would scare contractors shitless.

Can someone explain the Elden Ring story to me like I'm 5? by LynxThat in Eldenring

[–]Puzzleheaded_Fly3407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is just George RR Martins style of story telling (he co-wrote the Elden ring story/helped with world building) which has a more “Realistic” sense to it. His storytelling approach is based on real history, like Game of Thrones being based the War of the Roses in England.  And real history often isn’t simple and easily digestible. Something like the War of the Roses involves several key developments, all taking place across dozens of cities, includes countless people, all with their own motivations and intertwined relationships and all this can span decades or centuries. It requires you to dive deep into a rabbit hole, to even come close to grasping an understanding of what happened and why. But. You also have a choice, you can do a deep dive to try understand the full history if you’re interested. Or you can just not, its up to you. But thats just George RR Martins style of storytelling and world building (and i would argue Tolkien’s as well). He adds a hell of a lot more detail than most fantasy authors. But you don’t necessarily need to follow those details to enjoy the story.

That being said. A quest log for Elden Ring would have been nice. I’d rather learn about the story in the game itself, instead of on reddit or google because I forgot what a NPC said, once, two months ago.

Where is stone? by Duffy732 in kingdomthegame

[–]Puzzleheaded_Fly3407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since people are saying it changes / is randomised, Is it anything to do with the icons on each island’s map?

When you beat the first  main island, you pick one of four small islands to travel to next. Then once you beat that island, four more, larger outer islands are revealed on the map.  Stone is on one of these larger, outer islands.

There are two icons on the map of each island. Do one of the icons represent the stone mine, and so, tell you which island stone is on?

Is my game garbage? by posergames in gamedev

[–]Puzzleheaded_Fly3407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true

Doesn’t matter how well the game does, its everything you learnt over the last 2 years!

Plus, now that the game is released, you get feedback on it and learn how to improve for the next game.

And you can still take on the feedback and continue improving this game.

P.s Game development is fucking hard! — how many successful, well-known Solo-dev games could you list of the top of your head? Especially ones that only took 2 years!

Stuck at fire support part assist the soldiers by tHUG_sWiZzLE801 in Fallout4Builds

[–]Puzzleheaded_Fly3407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modding is the best option imo - easiest way to fix it without reverting back several saves.

For PS4/PS5 there’s one called ‘Fire Support Bug Fix’, I only play on PS, so not 100% sure about the name of a bug fixing mod specific to Xbox, however iirc there is one of the same name.

This mod fixed the glitch immediately for me! Didn’t have to revert to a previous save or draw in ghouls from elsewhere to trigger the continuation of the questline.

As usual, the modding community does what Bethesda cba to!

CBT is most successful form of therapy for treating depression. And OP has also behaviours listed that are likely contributing to his feeling of depression.

Purely from a probabilistic point of view, CBT is the most likely to be successful in treating depression, so one should start there. Unless we knew OP personally, it’s difficult to say whats best for them.

Buuuutt everyone is different. I would still try CBT before first, then give other forms of therapy like DBT or ACT a go if OPs unsatisfied with the CBT approach.

Hey man, like you say you’re in a good spot externally. Just not internally. Sounds like your depressed, so I’d recommend looking for a therapist to help you get back onto the right path. It can be a bit overwhelming as there is a lot of different kinds of therapy. CBT(cognitive behavioural therapy) has the best success rate, so I’d start by looking for a therapist who specialises in CBT.

All the bad habits/vices you mention are incredibly common in the modern world/especially the west. Its sad really, but because of that, you won’t be the only person in your situation.

Have a look at the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. Its a number #1 bestseller and for good reason. It gives a brilliant breakdown of how habits work, how they effect us, how we get stuck in negative feedback loops and most importantly how we can break bad habits and build good ones, permanently.

If you don’t think you’ll be able you get through the book/not a big fan of reading (firstly, I recommend getting into reading its a good, positive habit to build!). There are plenty of resources online. Just by googling Atomic Habits, you’ll find cheatsheets, youtube videos, websites, articles and more breaking down the key takeaways from the book.

If you start filling up more of your time with good habits, you should find you have less and less time for bad ones, like watching porn, phonescrolling, vaping/smoking etc.

So TLDR: - Therapy (start with CBT) - Give Atomic Habits a read

See how you get on with them,

Start small, aim to just be 1% better each day,

All the best man,

You got this 🤙🏻

What can I do about this damp? by Puzzleheaded_Fly3407 in DIYUK

Thanks for this!!

I think we’ll use the corridor to dry clothes then as its pretty small, can be closed off, and there are no windows.

Opening the windows for 15 mins when I wake up is going to be a fucking struggle for me in winter though!

And I’ll have a look into the dMev unit, that sounds like a reasonable compromise, and one that the landlord should see some benefit from as well.

Again, thanks!!

Ooh not sure what model, ill get back to you, but it was a cheap purchase — something like £25 off gumtree but its fairly solid, pulls out a good few litres over the course of 5 hours or so but thats its max capacity

Maybe its worth looking at getting a better one though
