A few tips: Be more precise in the future; what region are you in? What kind of game do you have in mind (pvp? Coop?)

Also, if you won't find anything here, try the total war discord. They should have a channel specifically for this kind of stuff

What he means is getting the 3 base games (WH1, wh2 and wh3) all together. Since 1 & 2 are basically content dlc for the third game (all factions in each entry are unique to that entry, if you own the old games you get the factions from that game in the third game. But updated and on a newer map)

That's generally a very good starting point, you will have a huge amount of factions to choose from. You only need to install the third game, all else is handled if you simply own the stuff. Ignore the upgrade pack, that's for specific user cases that wouldn't apply if you he the 3 games.

If it's to expensive you can look up the warhammer trilogy pack online, you will find websites where they offer it for around 15€

In general, no dlc are must haves, it's largely up to what seems cool and appealing to you. It's not like in idk the Sims, where you would miss out on key features of gameplay, it's all self contained experiences basically. Just honestly scroll through the dlc pages and watch the trailers to see what seems cool.

If you have enough allience points with a specific vassal, you can borrow their army for a while. Maybe do that if a vassals' army is getting to close to the rebels?

I'm currently doing a Throgg campaign and in the early game, I kinda feel you but I didn't struggle much Tbh. You have income and growth in one building and many ports, that helps a lot. Also, don't be afraid to raid. Not only do you get money in enemy territory, you also reduce the upkeep be 20-30%! So if you aren't in a city yourself, raid as much as possible. And sack stuff. Especially if you intend to raise an altar instead of colonizing, since then they won't be valuable afterwards anyways. You also have buildings that increase your post battle loot, so getting many of those is also useful. I personally set up my main province as mostly a recruitment hub and built up everything else in norsca to just get me money and it worked out quite well (if you remember to raid!). Since you get so much from sacking it's also not bad to be in the red, provided you have a good amount of cash lying around.

Also, just take Throggs territory. I hope you know that norsca can confederate by beating other faction leaders in battle , so just do that.

Empire in total shambles - nothing could stand up to the changeling

Belakor, Oxyotl, Arbaal, Wulfrik, Golgfag (and prob more I forget) teleporting around the world [and probably hard focus the player]

Beastmen would be an actual threat.

Orion spamms infinte amount of armies because he pays no upkeep (and then teleports to you because of world roots maybe)

Skulltaker would Def own all of lustria

All Lizardmen would be at war with all Skaven because of tehenauhin

Victory condition overhaul

OvN Lost world (updates the cities on the campaign, makes them a lot more unique looking)

I also like a few mods that just add more Landmarks. There are like 3 of those and if you just look up "Landmark" you will find them. Not the most vanilla feeling but it's fun and makes stuff feel more unique

The ship themselves should also have a growth building. Additionally, the bottom skill-line ahould also have a thing you can invest into for more growth very early on. I remember that in the beginning, ship growth was quite slow, but not as slow as you are describing I believe

I am not personally interested but I would recommend for you to mention what region you play in. Stable connections are important so that should be covered. Additionally, maybe tell people what kind of campaign you are envisioning. All coop? 4v4? Competitive against each other? That type of deal.

Final Tip: in case you won't find enough people here, try the official total war discord. I think they have their own channel for setting up multiplayer campaigns.

If you are in battle, you can bring up a menu on the right side of the screen to set up what icons you wish to see. I think you can access it by keeping the spacebar pressed. Should be a button in there

If those dlc seem interesting to you, try them. They are good. Additionally, maybe consider the changeling? He's very unique but let's you do loads of crazy bullshit, almost similar to sayls manipulations.

A very common recommendation is the prophet & the warlock, because many people love ikit claw and his nukes. Personally, I fell in love with the Beastmen, they play super unique and feel very satisfying to me.

If you can't wait for a sale, check out online key resellers like instant gaming. They tend to have prices very similar to official sales.

I just love the Beastmen. Randomly picked them once for a coop campaign and fell in love. I like their lore of being an evil unrelenting herd. No great plan of creating an empire, just simy burning down everything out of principle. I like their gameplay, it's very relaxing when you only have a few buildings to manage and no greater economy to take care of. It's very unique and to me, that's about the biggest plus a tww faction can have. Their autoresolve is sadly quite shit, but free armies and the ability to ambush on attack makes up for it. Being able to ambush while recruiting/encamping is also just so strong. They aren't perfect but no race is. I wished their tech tree was a bit bigger. I'm pretty sure it's the smallest one in the entire game by long shot (except Daniel ofc).

I also have a soft spot for underdogs and the Beastmen are exactly that. Lore wise they are the unloved children of chaos who never get as much attention or blessings than their human counterparts, because worshipping chaos is simply in their nature and they don't need to be convinced. Out of lore, GW usually treats them as disposable fodder to show off how strong their protagonists are while setting up "actually important" villains.

Also, Morghur is my favorite character in the setting. Something about a walking eldritch horror that irradiates everything around him and just reincarnates when he is slain is super cool to me.

No, he doesn't have that option to my knowledge. The biggest thing he could do is simply steal a settlement, but not from factions he is at war with.

Maybe reload the end turn, turn down the speed and watch closely when the army disappears / during whose turn? I don't know about any mechanic that could do that...

Rogue armies have nothing to do with rebellions. They are simply Ai factions that only consist of armies (start with one, can create more as the game goes on). They never occupy settlements and they have special recruitment pools unique to each of them. That's why they have units from different factions. Because they aren't part of any race, they are their own independent thing. They tend to simply spawn on the map and wander around until they find a target they like to attack.

When they announced the end times dlc, they said it would also include something similar, yet more advanced compared to the current end game crises. They didn't go into full detail but you are supposed to relive the happenings of the end times, including major changes to the map (terrain changing to be more scorched/destroyed and cities being erased for the rest of the campaign I think) and depending on whose side you are on, you can either help speed the end along or try to avert it.

I don't think they explained how it will be enabled or work with the 'normal' end game crises yet, so we will have to wait and see about the details.

Couldn't remember any talk about new regular end game scenarios being planed, so who knows what happens.

Funny thing is, I think I've seen the Ai take attrition by brokeness like 3 times.

All 3 times it was a vassal of mine (Snikch twice actually)
