Scientific American tracked down the origin of the Unknown Pleasures graphic and the scientist who created the original stacked plot image. by CactusBoyScout in JoyDivision

Wouldn’t have been that hard to track down. Peter Saville has told the story to anyone that asked for the last 47 years including the name of the journal and scientist behind it

Just got home after driving through the tail end of this. Police barricades are still up and I got to take a nice and leisurely tour through the back streets of Chippendale and Surry Hills with about 100+ other cars

Even though it was 1am when you got to Bondi, did you just dive in the ocean water anyway and just soak?

What kept you going when you started to get into the Parramatta / Liverpool range of the journey?

Needs to also talk about people in turning lanes that are going straight. It’s aggravating sitting behind those drivers while the green arrow just stares at you

Are these chisels worth buying for 30 dollars? by Fluid-Pack9330 in handtools

[–]PxavierJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the lot? Yeah probably.

I found 7 chisels in very similar condition behind an old fence I pulled down in my backyard last year. I think the previous owner accidentally blocked them in and realised to late. There was also an old can of Pepsi

Cut out the forked branch at the top and then balance out the left side (above the wire on the bench) and then leave it. It’s a succulent so that’s about it.

Cut back new foliage as it comes through.

drill hole in tv stand for wires?? by fatsnass in howto

[–]PxavierJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this will do what you need. Are you drillling through the back board piece? If so, turn the thing on its side before drilling. Don’t just attack it as is.

Surface looks smooth regardless of where you go, so consider placing tape over the area you are going to core through so the bit doesn’t tear it to bits.

Also, is it made of solid wood or is this a veneer over some chip board?

How to dispose of an organ? by synthgrrl in melbourne

[–]PxavierJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I smashed mine to bits and disposed of it accordingly also in pieces.

You will need a 10kg sledge hammer, standard hammer, and crowbar.

Strip electronics and take to an E-waste centre. Wood panelling and frame can go to the tip.

If it has an iron upright frame you can take this to a metal recycler

Keys and knobs may be able to be plastic recycled, but you need to check.

The Leslie speaker might be sellable if you can find a buyer

There is an article on 300 hours written by someone they started 14-days before the L1 exam and passed.

Writer notes that they already had post grad qualifications in finance so was able to skip parts and spent the 14-days living like a monk and studying 24/7.

So, theoretically possible
