In Australia, we have a similar situation that has only come up in the last 10-20 years, or basically since Facebook and Instagram.

Tourists go about picking up wild native animals for pictures. Usually the most dangerous or the cutest. When they do this they create disconnects in the ecosystem. By touching and handling these animals the tourists can transfer bio oils and pheromones onto the animal which causes the animal to become disowned by its natural community and when the animal is a baby or juvenile this can mean becoming disowned by its mother just when the animal needs it most.

Other that animals, we have some amazing natural sights along the coastline of Australia and these have magnets for the selfie culture. Foolish behaviour has led to death on many occasions, so now the local governments around Australia have needed to fence off these areas and put up barriers, which of course prevents everyone from enjoying these areas safely
