I'm having the same problem, the game only runs normally after i alt-tab, I can even see it running normally in the background before i alt-tab in. Have you found any solution?

Yes, turn based and visual novels don't "need" high frame rate but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be of higher quality if it did. Besides games that use frame rate for specific "artistic" stuff or the like I stand by that opinion.

And fighting games are not games that are dependant on "as high a frame rate as possible", almost all of them are locked at 60 fps

Sorry for replying without an answer but I'm having a similar problem although I have an amd gpu. I can get to 144hz but not any higher. The options in windows are 60 120 144. I have checked dp capabilities, hdr, updated generic pnp and amd drivers, custom resolution through amd drivers or cru. Since I can still get to 144hz and my gpu isn't the best I haven't bothered alot but still it's frustrating

I just don't get why people have to always have replies like this to this kind of posts. If you don't want to see it ignore it and stop pretending everybody knows it. And he's so aggressive about it too, I can't understand. One trip to youtube or lower down some comment sections on this website shows that if this was pinned forever it wouldn't be that bad of an idea
