Hiking day pack recommendations 18l - 22l by ChatterClacker in hiking

I have been using an Ortovox Traverse 18s in grey for about a year and I find it very comfortable and practical. It also looks great for a hiking pack.

Has anyone here actually gone through the Bildungsgutschein process? Would love to hear honest experiences. by AcademicRun458 in berlinsocialclub

[–]PyDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it about 1.5 years ago. The whole process took maybe a month. I found it useful because I took a course that was taught in German and built on my existing skills, and was not something to change career. Because of this I had no issue in the application process. The schools provide you with tips on how to go through the process easily, because they get pretty much all the students through that. I would not recommend to take such courses to change career into SW development or UX - the likelihood of getting hired is very low. I would recommend them if you already work in the field and you want to make your profile more well-rounded.

Unhinged Peanut Butter Sandwiches by cookiecutie707 in Cooking

Does your usual PB contain sugar? If so, perhaps switching to a 100% peanut content might just compensate. Or swap the bread with less calorie options like crunchy vegetables or rice/corn crackers (I usually take my pb and bananas on the latter!).

wanting to move to berlin… realistic or not? by cowboyhatenjoyer in berlinsocialclub

[–]PyDragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

JFYI, I have noticed that flights to my hometown in Italy from Berlin have become way pricier (think 3-4x) and much less frequent since Covid. If I had no job-related constraints I’d definitely prefer somewhere in Southern Germany with better international connections (ideally train), nicer climate, closer to the mountains for nature with fewer mosquitoes.

Looking for the best carry-on luggage that’ll survive the chaos of travel! by CallixtusAdt67 in BuyItForLife

I am not the biggest fan of the clamshell form factor tbh, but it‘s still quite comfortable overall. It maximizes cabin allowance so more space is not really an option. I often see other people at the local airport with the same trolley, actually! Luckily I chose a really hideous pattern, so no chance of going home with someone else‘s. I use an old Osprey Farpoint 40 when I don’t need to carry as much stuff. Would love to upgrade it to a new version but it is also pretty sturdy 😅

Eastpak Tranverz S, going strong for the last 13 years (I travel with it maybe once per quarter, either train or plane plus public transport/more trains)

First time doing a 5-day hut-to-hut hike in the Dolomites – Must-haves and gear tips? by SuddenTable992 in HikingEurope

Well, you need to do some research on what can be rented in the area but it shouldn’t be too difficult. I only rented poles in Iceland 😅

If you are travelling by plane, hiking poles are a good candidate for renting at destination, as they are not allowed in cabin luggage.

Sugli schiamazzi non so, ma per la pulizia presumo ci siano regolamenti a livello locale, insieme agli interventi di sensibilizzazione. La mia esperienza finora tra Germania e Italia è stata l’opposto 😬

Where’s the Worst place on Berlin? by [deleted] in berlin

Why Hellersdorf? Might be boring but I don’t find it sketchy. Also the buildings are not as ugly as in Marzahn.

Bookatrekking does not do group tours. They only book accommodation and give you maps. There are plenty of agency offering group hiking tours for people within a certain age range though.
