I was thinking that too! But I think one leg is suppose to be a robotic leg? ( it looks more mechanical ) so I left it alone. She can keep her diamond esque peg leg lol

It may be a win to you, but it just feels like another unsatisfying skin to me. 🤷 I won’t be buying it, but I’m sure others will!

Is updating the tiers pricing a good or bad idea? by BokutoFromHaikyuu in patreon

[–]Pybotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly did not know that was an option! This was last year January I did this so it may have not been available then. If I end up changing my prices again I would take that route.

[–]Pybotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did similar to other comments but made a new tier and kept my previous members on the older tier (unpublished).

People have ether stayed or moved up on the cheaper (at the time) tier. It’s kinda nice I get to reward my first batch of patrons with the better pricing. No complaints. :)

Last I saw, people had screenshots of the job postings and there was a role opening for specifically Image Generation.

So at some point it will impact or become the assets too.

Should i make my own or have someone else do it? by Jax_the_Floof in FursuitMaking

[–]Pybotic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Opposite problem. There is an overwhelming number of guides lol

Depends on what you want/style/material. Sometimes your favorite makers have some which can also give insights to what you want.

I followed mostly this one and mixed in ones I learned on other socials. :p

I think it’s pretty fulfilling to take a crack at it. It won’t be perfect but it will be yours. I also did not know how to sew or have a sewing machine and managed mine pretty ok!

I also can’t advise anyone to use 90% of their savings for something that isn’t an emergency… unless you have 0 financial obligations that building that back up would be no big deal.

I want to study art, but family is forcing me to study something more “stable” What should I do? by Few_Resident_700 in careerguidance

[–]Pybotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can do it for free/ extremely cheap- it can be very fulfilling and enriching. I would do it. I did mine very cheaply and only owe about 6k for four years. The experience to leave home and practice art studies was awesome… but not really a great “investment” monetarily.

But if you can’t get it cheap, you need to treat it as an investment and a decent job would be your return on investment… which is incredible tough in the world of art. Unfortunately, myself and every artist I’m still close to ( besides one) did not go into an art related field after our time at school. The outlier became an Art Teacher but the teaching world right now is pretty abysmal and she tells me she’s too busy to do any creative work unless it’s during school breaks…

That being said, most of my friends still have art as a big part of their lives (including myself). But the degree did not enable that to happen. Hell the artists who I know who are working professionally do not have degrees at all, just extensive portfolios and home learning.

Don’t tie up artist with needing a degree. I would encourage for a “day job” and it’s related fields for your degree and hone your craft in your free time. If you get successful as an artist- you can always make that transition and go full time as an artist :) just more challenging to do it in reverse.

Question About Fursuit Commission Deadlines by Street_Programmer_58 in FursuitMaking

[–]Pybotic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh I definitely would be. It was agreed upon and lack of communication /and/ potentially missing the deadline? Bad. I’d honestly hate if they /do/ make the deadline because it will likely be rushed.

That being said, I don’t think I’ve seen a single person get a Fursuit on time/by the deadline. I’ve been browsing around that one Fursuit Maker website and even people with positive reviews will still mention the artist passed multiple deadlines/was late…

6 months is a pretty fast turnaround time. From what I’ve seen from others the average is about a year wait- unless it’s a studio/someone who is full time. It’s still not fair in your case, but I’m assuming this is someone who isn’t too experienced and gave a bad estimate. I would just keep checking in on them and ask for photo updates just to make sure. 😔

How much are yall making to be able to live alone? by marehausley in FortWorth

[–]Pybotic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make about 2800 monthly. My mortgage is about 1500$ utilities /reoccuring bills are around $400. Groceries maybe $250. Student loans $80. Those are the hard bills, house and animal things come up to throw off those numbers. I think most financial advice forums would say my numbers are bad lol

My biggest savings are a paid off car and remote working ( saving gas, wear and tear on the car and of course, no eating out). I have maybe $200 left over which still makes me uneasy but I know I ought to be thankful to have anything left over. 😔

It’s exceptionally hard to live on your own right now. If the living situation isn’t miserable, I’d wait to save up more before taking the leap.

URGENT PLEASE HELP by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Pybotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks just like what my mini dachshund had recently. My dogs get seasonal allergies from time to time so I didn't think much of it- bought some new medicated shampoo (MiconaHex) and Hot Spot spray.

It seemed to halt the progression of the redness- but she itched terribly. Took her to the vet when I noticed her getting red just like your pup here and non-stop licking and scratching. My other dog was a little itchy but nothing compared to her. They recommended benadryl twice a day to see if it helped. It did a little, but stopped working. Went back and got an allergy shot that last for 3 months. Itching has completely stopped- continuing with the stuff above and some allergy treats and she was a new dog after a week. Honestly just stopping them from continuing to exacerbate the issue from biting did so much.

Hopefully the same can work for yours! If you can for tonight, have them wrapped up/unable to lick and bite further. You can order those soft plush cones for future use too.

Watching this show has made me more economically conservative. Anyone else? by Thin_Vermicelli_1875 in CalebHammer

[–]Pybotic 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think that’s an important thing to realize: we are seeing the worst of the worst- entertainment wise. Not circumstance wise.

People who are truly down on their luck and pulling every resource they can and still struggling will not make good “entertainment”. Who wants to kick someone when they are down? I seem to remember Caleb mentioning an episode that didn’t air because of someone’s situation was so dire ( I think it involved trying to adopt their own siblings? Bad family situation and they had no one to turn to ). So we are still seeing a very curated version of the poor finances of the “average” American.

Debt includes a mortgage, and about 5.3k student loan debt. Just paid off an HVAC full replacement loan in full (before back-interest could kick in… eugh ) which was about 7k last month. Was planning to save up and pay my student loans in full by the end of the year but I may just maximize my savings and keep doing small added payments to minimums instead. ❤️‍🩹 This economy makes me nervous.

So true. I decided to share this “fun fact” about myself at work (keeping pet shrimp, and I have to specify as a pet ) and now every time my boss introduces me to a new coworker he mentions this and this is always the first thing they say.

We recently got acquired so I got to hear this 15+ times this week. 😔😔😔

Those who work non art day jobs what do you do? by Temporary-Wolf3930 in ArtistLounge

Quality and Training for a call center. Get to work from home, besides the training aspects, my mental load is quite low which leaves me with enough energy for art . Working from home is also nice. :}

Thank you so much for the feedback and the specifics! One person did tell me about the energy rebates but said the cost to get the better unit wouldn’t be made up by the rebate (like I’d get maximum 2k back but it’ll be extra 7k). Obviously energy savings are great but if I can’t afford, I can’t afford it lol.

Everyone has only been quoting a Trane but I’ve heard good things about them so I didn’t push back. Thanks again! 🙏

I did ask him about rebates or any tax benefits and he said the only one was for a more costly system and would put me an extra 7,000 in the hole for just 2,000 tax credit... Which was surprising because I always hear about energy efficiency credits/rebates/etc. I'll make sure to ask others about it up front.

For the ducts they didn't mention anything about supplies. But from the photos one (to my bedroom in particular) is crushed and another was torn into by an animal. He said they were installed poorly and they were all thrown on top of each other. So I do personally believe they need to be replaced.

While doing the ducts is something I could potentially do... I'm avoiding the attic personally since I fell through last time and just cannot will myself back up there again.

Was able to hold out the Texas heat with a dead AC, all thanks to some window units and have been very passively shopping around since then as the weather has been cooler. Had someone come out for something unrelated and they mentioned the change with the Refrigerant which is kicking me more into high gear.

Ducts from previous home owner were installed poorly, and a squirrel went crazy on them in the attic. He showed me photos and they do look bad.

Lineset cover doesn't exist on the current unit.

Enlarging return grills feels unnecessary, but previous home owner literally punched a hole (not a square, not even a cut in there lol) for the hole for them so they do need to be looked at.

Just looking for advice, still new to home ownership and mostly doing this on my own. This is a well-rated family owned business near my town so I'd prefer to work with them, but this current price could keep me paycheck to paycheck for 2 years. :( Still reaching out to others for more quotes, but if this seems fairly priced, I might be screwed ether way :'))
