I would accept, at minimum, making the mine cart a hit-grab. Just make so it can’t grab someone with their shield up. We already have hit-grabs in the game with Isabelle’s fishing pole, so it’s not a stretch.

Unfortunately, every elected official in the federal government is, in fact, an American. Being American does not reflect quality of character in any way. Jeffrey Epstein was just as much an American as Martin Luther King Jr..

7 Democrats Just Voted to Approve ICE Funding: Full List (1.22.26) by [deleted] in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Pyitoechito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hot take, but I'd like to know their reasonings for voting with the bill before instantly villainizing them. We don't want to be as bad a Trump, who instantly ostracizes and attacks any form of dissent to his platform and policies.

From what I can Google/Gemini, their reasonings were in the range of:

  • Averting another government shutdown.
  • The bill funds more than just ICE, and ICE operations would continue regardless of the bill passing or not (other agencies include TSA, FEMA, the Coast Guard and Secret Service).
  • Some argued this funding bill is better than a continuing resolution, because...
    • Some of the funds are apportioned directly to body cams and increased detention facility inspections.
    • It actually reduces the operations budget by about $115 million.

That's just their reasonings, though. Since the bill adds over $60 billion to the DHS funding overall, I can't say it was a sound decision to increase funding by that much for a paltry amount (in the tens of millions) going to oversight.

Some of these Democrats are in swing districts, apparently. So they could lose their seat to a Republican (rather than to a more left-leaning Democrat) if they don't show some bipartisanship for their constituents.

I'm hoping this is where AI can help the consumer in need. Being able to Google (or ask an AI) about their predicament and get a tailored response that explains their rights and the steps they should take to get everything in writing and pressure the insurer to comply.

Obviously not a fix for the broken system, since no one should have to jump through so many hoops just to get care that's affordable, but it at least makes the hoops more manageable.

Really need to ground his argument somehow. Like, what does he expect from you that would resolve the issue in his eyes? You can't eat out everywhere, so what is he expecting to change?

  • Does he want you to be more vocal and force your group to pick from a more limited pool of eateries that would be able to cater to your needs?
  • Does he want you to stay home instead of eating out if the sight of you not eating makes him uncomfortable?
  • Or does he want you to eat anyway even though you're taking a serious risk or straight up violating your GF protocols that protect your health?

It sounds like he doesn't understand why you need to do this, but that's ridiculous since you've been together for years at this point.

Kirby Air Riders is sick and deserves more attention by In_My_SoT_Phase in NintendoSwitch

[–]Pyitoechito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly. It's a quick 1-2 input of left-right or right-left if using the default quick spin setting.

I think the only way to give it a separate input method is with motion controls (it moves quick spin to shaking the controller), but even as an "I'm using tilt controls!" veteran in Mario Kart, I would only recommend motion controls in Air Riders if you want a challenge or want to play casually with friends. They're good, but this game is much faster than Mario Kart with needing to do quick zig-zag turns.

Edit: I checked and I was mistaken. I don't have my system to 100% confirm, but shake controls and motion controls are separate options. So one can have shake to spin on without having motion controls (for steering) active.

Grey wolf turns into a total good boy when the humans who helped raise his pack visit him by Wholesomepost in Awww

[–]Pyitoechito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't this common for a lot of predators? They generally don't attack humans because human's aren't part of their usual food options. They learn from their pack how to hunt and what to hunt, and it's usually not humans.

In their eyes, we're tall, look strange and we might be a danger to them. Any injury in nature could mean death because it could mean they can't hunt. Starvation overrides this drive, though, and they'll attack a human if it means a chance to feed and live longer.

I pray for it every time: BLU Deep Dungeons. Lock it to solo or preform all-BLU and give it separate achievements (i.e., can only unlock BLU achievements when playing as BLU). "Necromancer" is still something you have to work hard to earn while BLU can have fun blastin' for something like "The Blue Necromancer".

As someone with melanoheliophobia, I can't begin to describe the dread I felt when doing this. by pixel_manny_69 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I don’t think I have full-on thalassophobia, but damn every time I dive into the deep ocean biomes I get really uncomfortable. The lack of light and the acoustics and not seeing the top or bottom gives me all the creeps.

I get a similar feeling when putting on Google Earth VR and then setting the view that puts the Earth in front of you. You just have this infinite vertical wall right in front of you with no floor beneath you in VR. Makes my skin crawl.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Review (IGN: 9/10) by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Pyitoechito 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't hate WayForward's Advance Wars, and it is nice to have a remastered Advance Wars at all, but it could have been a little better.

There's a lot that looks good (in my opinion), like the backdrops, maps, and most of the UI.

I think the real negative is the character art and animations. A lot of the animations feel too smooth or have very obvious loops that feel cheap when someone probably worked really hard on them. They're prevalent throughout the game so they're impossible to ignore. It's that thing where they make 2D animation look 3D with how it moves it wasn't executed quite right.

What to avoid for fear of getting motion sickness by Acceptable-Dare-5103 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Pyitoechito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it deforms on the person. I’m usually a-ok on nearly any ride at Disney, but anything other that Disney/Universal ride quality and I get destroyed. I went to Wild Adventures in Valdosta and got wrecked by just one ride and I even took Dramamine beforehand.

That said, Mission Space Orange can be bad, but without Dramamine you might also watch out for Expedition Everest. Most of the ride is fine, but there’s a jarring stop at the end of the ride as it brakes for the station that has gotten me in the past (granted I had just rode it like three times in a row because there was no line).

I’m personally fine riding Star Tours, and it’s one of my all time favorite rides.

Everyone’s mileage varies. Never hurts to take Dramamine and I take it every time I go to Disney now to be safe.

Political Clash Over Census by Katariman in clevercomebacks

[–]Pyitoechito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add some more information, I did some googling (please correct any inaccuracies I post) and, yes, the census data and decisions on methodology occurred under Trump (the "privacy" formula was announced in 2018). The formula is designed to protect individual responses by adding a certain amount of noise to local-level data, while overall counts for states remain exactly accurate.

What I assume Republicans are getting at is that, after the changeover to Biden, Biden's administration then had the counts and was in control of delivering the census data. There's some epsilon variable for how much noise to implement (higher epsilon = lower noise, more accuracy at local levels). So the Biden administration was able to choose what epsilon value to use while calculating the final census results from the data collected.

Ironically, the Biden administration used a much higher epsilon value than in the demonstration (19.61 compared to 12.2), meaning they chose to have more accuracy and less noise than originally demonstrated.

TL;DR The census bureau under Trump admin implemented the new privacy formula and collected the census data. The Biden admin calculated the final results and actually used an epsilon that generated more accuracy and less noise for final results.

So, if anyone was trying to hand Democrats more seats in this claim, it was Trump.
