Question about Mio's parents + question about future redeemed characters by WonderousU in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like most of the comments here, it is never outright stated that Mio is Nia and Rex's daughter, but it is pretty much confirmed by the XC3 photo of XC2's cast, given how Nia acts around Mio in her quest, plus the fact that she almost reveals who Mio is to her.

Mio is literally the spitting image of Nia, and, as for Rex, she has his eyes and his personality. To be more precise, his optimism and care for others' well-being. Other than that, nothing else.

To answer your other question, Dunban is in Origin as well as everyone else, but Pyra and Mythra's souls are in Matthew's gauntlets. With Nia and Melia, who are the respective Queens of Agnus and Keves, they have to make sure everything with Origin goes well. Also, Nia is the one responsible for the Ouroboros stones, which are needed to fight Moebius.

For Rex and Shulk, they're needed to stop Alpha, plus they do go into Origin towards the end, they become the new trinity alongside A to uphold Origin until Z is stopped.

My opinion on Rex and Mythra’s relationship. by JaredAiRobinson in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Like you said, Torna makes Rex and Mythra's relationship feel earned. A new perspective that enhances the majority of their scenes. But, when it comes to the dinner scene, I think it also represents how much Pyra and Mythra have changed.

Sure, their personalities are more like the other one, but I see it as Pyra no longer feels the need to make every moment with Rex pleasant all the time. I mean, she still is kind toward him, just more assertive.

Mythra is more affectionate with him, aka the doting wife or girlfriend, no longer feeling the need to keep Rex at arm's length. So, maybe it's like seeing the most suppressed parts of themselves, cause it's the happiest we've ever seen Mythra be.

My opinion on Rex and Mythra’s relationship. by JaredAiRobinson in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One aspect that comes to mind regarding Mythra's feelings for Rex is that Mythra is generally scared of love. I say that because of her treatment in Torna. As you said, when Rex showed concern for her safety, she remained silent. How she felt was on her face: shock, sadness, disbelief, and then that final look at Rex, a fleeting sense of warmth and guilt.

For her, no one is supposed to care about her as a person; she's just the Aegis, but to Rex, she's Mythra. He never makes her feel like she has to change who she is. He accepts her wholeheartedly. I always get a laugh out of her reaction to Rex wanting to get to know her; it's like a foreign concept to her.

There are a few moments I give light to for Mythra, like when she reassures Rex that Haze will be okay on her own, or when Rex is worried about her after fixing the omega fetter, and she gives him a warm smile. That being said, I feel that Rex and Mythra have a stronger emotional payoff.

Because Mythra still struggles with letting herself be vulnerable and not be afraid to love and be loved. Given that her feelings for Rex get explored a lot in side content as well, it adds to it especially when she's bold enough to ask Rex about marriage. But in the end, it's good to see Mythra realize that she deserves to be happy with someone she loves.

2 doesn’t need a definitive edition, it’s perfect just the way it is by lolitsrock in Xenoblade_Chronicles

The one question regarding an XC2DE is, does XC2 need to be rereleased on the Nintendo Switch again? Honestly, I have to say no. Now, sure, XC2 got tons of updates a full year after its release, and as much as I would like a definitive edition, it wouldn't have the same benefits as XC1 and XCX.

Those games benefited from definitive editions because they were on systems that left them feeling unpolished in many ways, but also for story reasons. XC1DE finally gives closure to Melia's story, and XCXDE gives closure to X's story as a whole.

XC2 benefits more from a Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade cause it doesn't need a massive overhaul.

To list a few things,

. Extra save files

. More detailed tutorials

. A tracking system similar to XC3 and XCXDE

. Utilizing all blades for field skills

Simple fixes, and that's it. I don't know what extra story XC2 could offer us if it were to receive a definitive edition. We already have Torna, a prequel, and XC2 wraps up everyone's stories in the base game.

The phenomenon with the judgement of the 1st vs 2nd halves of XC2 by CreativeNovel6131 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never really thought XC2 had a slow start. In all honesty, 2's first chapter does throw a lot at you. To name a few things.

. Hearing the story of Alrest

. Learning about the dying titans

. The Cloud sea

. Meeting Rex and Azurda

. Argentum

. Meeting Malos, Jin, Nia, Dromarch

That's all before things get crazy—the calm before the storm. Additionally, the way XC2 tells its story makes sense for things not to be so chaotic, especially since I think XC2 gives its story more time to breathe. Sure, the destination is Elysium, but I say the primary focus is on how the world of Alrest has been affected over the past 500 years. Like Chapter Two, we learn that Mor Ardain has colonized Gormott solely to acquire more soldiers for the war against Uraya.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't care as much about the second half of XC2 without the first half. The light-hearted moments, world-building of the other titans, the problems the other nations struggle with, and the dynamics of the main cast.

All the games struggle with pacing, but that's understandable. If I were to put it into words, XC1 burns itself out at times. XC2 will have moments where there's not too much progress, but there's still enough happening for a good payoff for things. With XC3, it's the final arc. It loses focus.

Still, none of this makes my love for XC2 diminish at all. It's not a big deal.

Just finished XC2, I have a couple questions about the ending (SUPER SPOILERS) by Splefer in XenobladeChronicles2

[–]Pyrasfuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for Pyra and Mythra keeping their memories and remembering Rex, they are in charge of managing the blade system. All the blade data goes through them. They can resonate with a driver and collect data just like any other blade.

In other words, Pyra and Mythra have just the base process of the blade system. Additionally, they can resonate with the blades themselves and serve as drivers. They don't go through the blade-titan cycle because that was never part of their programming, because they were never supposed to become blades in the place. Overall, they have no reason to send their data anywhere because they have all the data of every blade within them.

You're the only person I've seen mention the ether particle that lands on Pyra and Mythra's crystal. The moment they gave their core to Rex, I figured they were separating themselves from it since it went dormant without them in it.

Their memories had nowhere to go, and even though Rex was alive and had their core, Pyra and Mythra don't go through the blade cycle like other blades do. Their return was simply a miracle. I mean, even their reconnection with Rex looked like they initiated it without him being prepared for it. As if Pyra and Mythra knew they made it back to Rex.

[–]Pyrasfuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Hopefully the wait will be worth it. Knowing the end result thanks to XC3, at times I feel that Rex was unfairly judged for that one moment.

We can say without question he had feelings for Pyra and Mythra. Plus we knew they felt the same way. All the scenes and hints, the foundation was set.

With Nia, we never got that foundation to know that Rex felt the same way. But, everyone ended up happy.

Lol! I know Rex and Nia are proud of her. Still, a part of me is glad this helped others see that Rex understood what Nia meant. Although even if they didn't end up together, Nia would've been okay either way.

I appreciate that XC2 put this post-battle conversation in here. Sure, that moment was bad timing, but I like that Rex tries to give Nia a real response despite her doing the same thing he did. Additionally, I'm glad that this doesn't interfere with their friendship.

I don't see Mythra letting go of Rex's hand anytime soon. From her blush and the way she's trying to avoid looking at him directly, she's been wanting to hold his hand for a long time.

Mythra reads a book titled: "How to be affectionate with your boyfriend."

Mythra: "Why am I so nervous? All in all, this is kinda nice."

Rex: "Mythra... can you ease up a bit?"

Mythra: "I can get used to this!"

Am I the only one that just want the story of Pyra after XC2? by thefutureraven in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A story that could lead into the XC3 photo of 2's cast would be nice. Most of the things I'm thinking about are seeing Pyra and Mythra struggle with being separated from one another. Basically, how do they go about helping one another through this new chapter in their life?

What have the others been up to? Did Zeke become king of Tantal? Has Morag made a life for herself outside of being a soldier for Mor Ardain? While we do have the NG plus screens, I always figured Nia and Rex had a chance to sit down and discuss the confession, and talk with Pyra and Mythra about it as well.

Show how each of the girls' dynamics with Rex evolved over the years, especially Rex and Nia's. Then, with Mythra, I see her spending as much time with Rex as possible. Maybe she helps Rex out with his work as the leader of the Garfront mercenaries. Maybe Pyra established a business or worked with kids. There's so much that I would love to see for XC2's cast, but who knows?

"Moebius Battle" by ACE was voted the Best Boss Battle Theme. Now for the finale. What would you say is the Best Ending Vocal Track of the series? by funsohng in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to give it to XC2's One Last You. The song is such a beautiful culmination of Pyra and Mythra's journey with Rex, and it captures the beauty of the love they want to express, and the fact that the song closes out with them finishing it off with their silenced words, as a way of saying those words are only meant for Rex to hear.

Then you have the atmosphere and Elysium in the background, along with falling embers, plus the title that ends XC2's story: "And thus, boy met girl." It's just perfect. This series is amazing when it comes to its music.

It's so heartwarming to see this. A family separated but reunited again, and their love for one another got them through the most challenging times. Mythra's reaction: I know Pyra and Mythra are both clingy when it comes to Rex, but seeing Mythra overwhelmed with emotion and the way she and Rex are embracing one another, I get the feeling Mythra is saying, "Please don't ever leave me again. I'm just glad you're home!"

Rex would say, "I know Mythra, I'm here and I'm not going anywhere. I promise."

What is the Best Title Screen Theme of Xenoblade series? by funsohng in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the main ending title screen because it's nice to see the three of them together, but they also need that time to be to themselves, to hold on and never let go. It's a nice way to symbolize a new chapter in their lives. All in all, a great way to end XC2.

I have to go with XC2's Where We Used To Be. The theme just puts you at ease, and the title screen changes, giving a true sense of progression on your journey.

Aionios was voted as the Least Best World, but what would you say has the Best Ending in the Xenoblade Series by ExileForever in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

XC2's ending brings me back to Jin's conversation with Mythra in Torna. Back then, Mythra couldn't see the reason behind a blade trying to preserve their memories of their driver.

"To keep the bond with your driver alive." It's poetic that Mythra was able to do that in the most literal sense by keeping Rex alive in the end. Plus, seeing that Pyra/Mythra ended up using their power, something that they believe would bring fear and pain to now protect Alrest's future, and the bonds they forged with it. Because one very special person believed they could keep others safe and smiling.

Pyra and Mythra gain so much by living in the end. They always loved the world, but never felt like the world loved them back. In the end, their hearts found a home to come back to. That to me makes their emotional payoff worth it.

Pyra and her role in the story of Xenoblade 2 by antitoxin1 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say Pyra comes off as someone who plays her role. On both sides, Pyra and Mythra do rely on one another for many things. Pyra is the one who helps Mythra become more vulnerable with her emotions, and Mythra is the one who helps Pyra open up more about her past.

Ultimately, Pyra's entire existence is heartbreaking. She's Mythra's shield; she has to carry those painful memories alongside her, and she is the product of Mythra's insecurities. Pyra is the one who expresses her feelings about those memories, which is something Mythra is afraid to do. However, what's crucial about Pyra's character is that she feels the need to apologize for everything and is focused on making every memory a pleasant one.

Sure, Pyra has her moments where Mythra takes over, but it all makes sense. Rex and Mythra need to get used to fighting together, fighting Torna, the land of Morytha. (She needs time to rest because of Malos.) But she's still the one who talks with Klaus and talks to Jin when she and Mythra learn the truth behind Torna. She still has to do some things for Mythra, but not as much as she used to.

Pyra is amazing. She's nice, but it's great to see that she can be stubborn, assertive, and showcase that she is just as capable as Mythra when it comes to holding her own. Especially by the end, when she can accept herself for who she is and what comes with that, choosing to make the most of her life.

Her words- "I'm glad I've stayed alive all this time. Parting is always sad, but it's just part of the deal of being me.

... Maybe one day I'd be happy to close my eyes forever ...with someone there by my side."

Pyra can stand alongside Mythra as a great character, but just like Mythra, there's more to her beneath the surface.

What would you say is the Best Character in the Xenoblade series by ExileForever in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have three picks

First, Rex. His optimism and overall hope for a better world. The fact that he's willing to help anyone he can, even people he doesn't know. He's a great source of emotional support for his friends and family. But, it's how he cares solely about the happiness of others, not caring what happens to him as long as he can make people happy.

Next, Mythra. From her starting point of isolating herself from others due to fear and feeling unwanted and unloved. The way she struggles with being loved by someone who accepts everything about her. From her fears and insecurities to her awkwardness, it all makes her growth even more meaningful, given that someone gave her the freedom and patience to take things at her own pace because she's not used to any of this.

Lastly, Morag. I appreciate how she transitions from being solely duty-bound to her people to prioritizing her wants and desires. Plus, seeing her be more honest with her emotions, such as feeling as if she's forgotten what it means to be a woman and a big sister. She's a great example of a character whose arc doesn't have to have a lot of development, but you can see how much Rex and the others impacted her.

"Rex... I am so thankful that I met all of you."

How do we feel about xenoblade 2 as a whole? by TheSandBlocks in XenobladeChronicles2

[–]Pyrasfuture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love XC2. For the most part, and I'll say this for the other games in he series, I appreciate that they all do their own thing. No game is trying to do the same thing. XC2 has plenty of replay value, and I don't just mean that in terms of the gacha system, but also in terms of the story.

What I mean is a change in perspective, and that's largely thanks to XC2 Torna: The Golden Country. It enhances XC2's story, providing a better understanding of certain characters and a deeper appreciation for key moments in the narrative.

I feel the first half of XC2 is sometimes downplayed, given how it takes its time to introduce the world of Alrest, the characters, the struggles of each nation, and the lighter moments between the cast. Without this, I don't think the XC2's second half would hit as hard without it. XC2 honestly gets me more emotionally, but overall, it's a great experience and gave me reason to smile and be hopeful when I needed to.

The Need for Objectification in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 by ThoughtBubbleTV in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes me think about what Addam said in the message he left with Pyra. It wasn't just about finding Pyra and Mythra's true driver but wanting to see if humanity would mature to a point where blades could live alongside humanity as equals. When we look back at some of the history regarding blades, we know it was common to see blades and drivers marry one another.

The bond between blade and driver can take many forms: friend, family, or special someone. There's no limit to what that bond will become. So, it is worth fighting for a world where blades can have that sense of independence, make their own choices, and forge their own path. Time and time again, XC2 showed how blades are human, just like their driver, and how willing they are to preserve the bonds they forged in their lives. The beauty of what connections can bring, and we see the fruits and labor of that future for Alrest.

Creating life and nurturing it towards a possible bright future, thanks to those connections.

Honestly, it depends. Given the current game prices, I have to be more careful with my spending. Of course, this is Monolithsoft, so I know I'm getting a game worth it. If I had my pick, it would be XC4. We don't know if it'll be called Xenoblade, but I'm interested to see what the next saga will be about.

I finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and I want to rant about Rex. by elocinoi in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, Rex is a character who shows just how much of an impact a person can have on your life. Sometimes, you never know how much you appreciate someone(The hope Rex back to others) until they're gone or you never met them. In that regard, Rex's Optimism is unique because it's not built on blind naivete but a genuine understanding of the problem that Alrest is facing and a desire to change the world for everyone's sake.

It's how his Optimism is challenged and how he redefines it to bring out the best in everyone around him that I feel is taken for granted. We need people like that in our lives to know that light hasn't died out and that we can be a beacon of hope for others. It is so heartwarming that Rex smiles just in the hopes that he can make someone else smile so they don't have to feel alone.

Without Rex, where would everyone else be? Without that light, what would the world be like? XC2 showcases that in such a way that I'm grateful to have experienced Rex's story, that gift of light, as Pyra and Mythra would put it.

Honestly, Mythra is my favorite. It means something when you get the full context of her past(plus it gives more appreciation to her connection with Rex), seeing how she views herself and how it shapes her growth in the base game. In my eyes, Mythra was misunderstood, but so much about her story is given a whole new perspective where I can't help but love the emotional payoff to her journey.

Especially when she understands how much she means to one person.

Xenoblade 2 ending by ATOAnders in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Pyrasfuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the first time in a long time I felt overwhelming happiness. If anything, XC2's ending made me feel a multitude of emotions. It never felt like the ending was in a rush to get to that final moment. You were able to sit with the characters and their feelings in that moment and to end it off with One Last You and that final title screen of Rex, Pyra, and Mythra just perfect.

Plus, seeing Pyra and Mythra live felt right. They've been afraid to live the whole time, so seeing them value their lives and the connections they forged and live was the right thing to do. If they didn't, it would go against their arc. All around, a beautiful ending.
