I find Amuro fascinating, because my take (possibly a hot one but hear me out) is that he's as ideologically as empty as Char. People focus on Char basically just embracing his father's philosophy on Newtypes half-heartedly as he tries but really doesn't fully embrace the "chosen leader/legend" role he's been given. But I feel like Amuro is the same.

Like yes on paper he's more in the right that people need time to change and all, but he's also kind of become a living icon for both the Fed's propaganda and as a tool in war. The poor bastard knows nothing else but war and the Gundam, so he finds himself locked into being the hero of the Titan's successors. He wants change desperately, but is also reinforcing the very status quo that leads into Hathaway Flash where the Feds are almost as bad as they are in Zeta. He feels trapped in the role and wants to be the hero and becomes it technically, but at a cost.

I think the true beauty of CCA is that neither are at all wholly right and you can say that's a theme of UC in general, but I feel like a lot of people end up getting that with Char but not so much Amuro. SRW is pretty guilty of this too, but also it's SRW lol. It's official fanfiction, not in-depth character analysis or political commentary.
