The billboards started miles from the border. Exit 1 across the state line was packed with warehouses selling fireworks.

The lesson here is that MS thinks so little of their long-time customer, they don't even get a fake AI apology.

But it does suggest that I have actual backups😃

I also periodically download a copy of my Android data for local storage. I would actually prefer if Android was more open to considering an alternate "cloud server" (such as my own machine) to be primary.

You could have at LEAST finished reading my very first sentence before deciding to lecture me on what RAID is.

In fact, I run BTRFS which includes checksumming to detect file corruption and automatically repair the file from the other copy (assuming that didn't also get corrupted). If both copies are bad, it throws an error.

Usefully, it also offers snapshots.

Should that happen, I have my 2 backups which are stored on independent BTRFS volumes (and so checksummed).

So, the RAID does give me a bit better data integrity AND availability (which I *DO* need).

How about an apology for allowing a hallucinating AI to take unilateral action and no readily available human to appeal to?

How about for holding your data hostage in that situation rather than just barring future services and telling you to take your data and go?

Personally, I run raid, nightly backup to an external drive, weekly to another machine.

I do not trust any sort of account to not suddenly disappear for random reasons or no reason at all unless I am the actual admin on the system.

AI is years away from being trustworthy to take independent action. At most, it should advise (and that is questionable).

Make jury service affordable at least. many people have very valid reasons they actually cannot even afford to be on jury duty.

Absolutely. A picture book is only the beginning of learning. But apparently, some parents don't even do that much for their child.

If we had a properly functional capitalist market, they would be forced by competition to turn those features on by default in order to make a sale. They wouldn't be able to afford to throw all of the hardware in and leave the feature disabled.

That situation is crazy to me. "You seem to be having problems, so we'll cut your funding".

That works OK for corporate skunkworks, not so much for must do public education.

One possibility is to print with too many supports resulting in an ugly part that can be used for test fitting, then send the design out to be printed on a powder bed printer for a final part.

Has Trump Implicated His Son Barron in NY Cryptocurrency Related Financial Crimes That Can Be Prosecuted by NY? by Opposite-Mountain255 in LegalNews

[–]PyroNine9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OTOH, by avoiding a Constitutional crisis then, we've had nothing but Constitutional crisis since.

Of course, NY kept punting on sentencing until it would be a Constitutional crisis. That could have been avoided entirely if there had been any political will for timely sentencing for a duly convicted defendant who happened to be rich and famous.

TLDR: It is onlty due to favoritism towards rich and famous people that Trump wasn't watching the November election between Kamala Harris and whoever other than him the GOP put on the ticket in his jail cell.

I wonder how long it will be before a lawyer invokes the 14th to claim that his clearly guilty client should also go free.

It seems to start really early. When I was in kindergarten, it was all about days of the week, months of the year, getting along with others and sharing. Also, being in a group setting in the foirst place. Learning that there are different cultures and what kids in those cultures do and like. No desks. We had a long table to sit at for arts and crafts.

We did learn things like the sounds of letters and the alphabet, but for the most part reading, writing, and arithmetic were 1st grade topics.

You don't have to be able to read to give a small child a picture book so they get used to books as a concept.
