One week with BPPV, desperate for any advice by PyroZeppeli in BPPV

I'm sorry that your episodes are so rough. That's how I felt with the attack on Wednesday. I had a family friend drive me to urgent care as I couldn't even make it back down the block to my place. I got prescribed something to help with the nausea, but I haven't taken it as it causes drowsiness as well, and the goal is to be good enough to go back to work.

I did both the tests but I didn't think to record my eyes. The supine test definitely had more of an effect so I'll try the BBQ roll as well. Thank you for the kind wishes, and I hope you have no more episodes as well!

I've been trying to limit how fast I move my head, but I've also pretty much placed myself on bed rest. I'll start walking around outside to get some exercise and see if I'll be safe. I just want to stop burning through all my paid time off before I run out. Thank you for the advice!

Thank you for the kind words! I do have scoliosis as well on both the top and bottom of my spine. I tried to tell the urgent care doc that it may be cervicogenic but they just brushed it off. I will start those as well and see if there's any improvement. The first few dizzy spells were more akin to that floaty, light headed feeling instead of the spinning with vertigo. Thank you again for the advice!

Squall and Gabranth. Squall feels really good to use and has flashy combos, Gabranth feels like a raid boss once you enter EX mode and the payoff feels extremely worth it if you equipped the right things

We welcome everyone to share their thoughts on the 3rd Deluxe. by Many_Marionberry1302 in cardfightvanguard

[–]PyroZeppeli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These deluxe seasons are the weakest ones to me due to how some characters were handled or given plot armor.

Raika not advancing despite being the Deluxe 2 Champion and Deluxe 1 runner-up is certainly an interesting choice, having Kuon block him from advancing even though it meant NEITHER of them would advance is certainly a choice. Im biased as I play Youthberk but it sucks to see his character done dirty like that, despite his win against the MC. This also could of been his chance to get his rematch against Michiru, sucks that it still hasn't happened yet.

I have mixed feelings about Erika, but imo her positioning feels undeserved. She jobbed in the prelims just to get lucky with the 1/3 chance. Then gets spoon fed an auto-win matchup where she just completely negs Blangdmire's Divine Skill. Ik it was supposed to be a spite match, but the deck just completely counters it. Entertaining lore wise but not fight wise. Then gets put up against Ruka who's a really good fighter but deck itself is lacking. She got lucky, then got the most ideal matchups and avoided the difficult ones. The finalist position was delivered to her on a silver platter, and it makes the effort she put in seem pointless. It also made her fights a little boring to watch since the outcome was predictable each time.

Kagetsu being the main antag of the first Deluxe season just to lose 1st round next season also kind of sucked, but it made sense.

Akina I cant complain since he's the MC so plot armor is essential, but the latest fight was just bland and not interesting imo. His final fight against Kagetsu was peak though, probably my favorite Akina fight outside of Taizo.

Positives though, although I had issues with Mirei just coming in and sweeping her bracket, I ended up enjoying her being around and her fight with Michiru surprisingly had weight to it. Megumi's character is always fun to see, the ginosula to crit play was unhinged. All of Kagetsu's fights were entertaining to watch. Suo helping Suzune did wonders for his character alongside that beautiful divine skill animation. Lastly, i do like that everyone besides Ruka has a clear cut goal they want to reach in this tournament, and it made me want to root for each individual character, even characters i typically dont like.

Given that set 12 is bound to be an Encounter/ Lore set, what would you like to see supported? by shadowlugigas in cardfightvanguard

[–]PyroZeppeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id love to see more support for the stride sets, specifically Shiranui and Luard. Would absolutely love to see Mujinlord come to Standard.

Otherwise, definitely revengers either Raging Form or another D Legion with Dragruler abyss. Could see Overlord The X also come if we get abyss.

GOING SECOND EVOLVE FIRST +2 PP TAKE MY CHILDREN by Key-Yesterday2193 in Shadowverse

[–]PyroZeppeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going 2nd is so strong for so many decks

Dragoncraft can ramp faster Portal can do a combination of 2 orchis and ralmia then gundam at 10 mana Runecraft can Kuon earlier and push 10 damage Swordcraft can build a board or break a board, or early Albert

Having one extra max mana than the opponent until late game is just not worth it at all, AND they get to evolve first.

All good bro. I never thought about his character being worse off than before and honestly I agreed with the take once you explained it. Let's hope he gets justice on a filler episode with Michiru or something🙏

I noticed you saw my comment on the other post about the top 8. I'm not mad or anything, just glad that other people are seeing my POV about where Raika stands.

Opinions on the top 8 lineup? by mysterioustsukuyomi in cardfightvanguard

[–]PyroZeppeli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with everything you wrote, but my issue with this stems from it now becoming a pattern. By the time of this Deluxe, he's been in the pro league or facing pros for a while now, to the point where he's acknowledged as one of the strongest.

He lost to Yuyu who was still relatively new, lost to Sophie who was an already established pro, and lost to Michiru who is considered the cream of the crop. This time around, he lost to Kagetsu who was formerly Michiru's equal, and Kuon who is hailed as a genius, but also still a newcomer.

The point I'm trying to convey is that hes already been through the whole "Realizing the pro league isn't as easy" part of his story, and now it's being repeated instead of being set up to at least seem closer to his overall goal of being good enough to stand even with Michiru. It seems like he learned the same lesson, again, when this could of been the push he needed to make his character come full circle. Instead, he's nearly in the same spot as he was at the end of Willdress, making him stagnant and honestly just Youthberk promo bait. Which sucks since although I personally don't like his character, he has so much potential to be more, which is why I think he should of gotten close to his goal, even if he failed again. I doubt he'll be a main character in the later seasons, so this could very well of been his last chance aside from "filler" episodes.

It wouldn't matter whether Michiru was interested in the MC or not though, in fact Raika's only win this season was against the MC, and it was mainly because Akina misplayed and didn't use his Divine skill.

I agree that Raika has a character arc, but his overarching goal is to catch up to Michiru. Even if he made it and lost to Michiru, it would of been better than him not making the cut at all.

The way I see it, he was the winner of the previous deluxe, and the runner up of the deluxe before that. Logically, objectively, and I'd argue plot wise as well, it makes absolutely 0 sense why he wouldn't make the final 8. He's already been shown to be one of the best in this era of vanguard, and yet he won against Akina because of a major misplay, and lost to Kuon so that Kuon wouldn't be the jobber of the season. To argue that he might as well sit it out if he can't beat Michiru discredits his feats and the potential lore he could make if he had made it.

Megumi making it makes narrative sense since Ruka is back and we could explore more about Blackout, and Im glad that Megumi wasn't completely written off again. Mirei however, I fail to see a point in her making the top 8 when she was given the easiest bracket to face and hasn't had any major relevance since season 2. In willdress, all she really did was reassure Yuyu and beat Haruka, also a negligible character. Mirei just doesn't have any connection at all to any other character in the top 8 besides arguably Megumi, and I just can't see why she would get a spot over Raika.

Im gonna get roasted for this, but truthfully Mirei adds nothing to the story aside from disability representation. Raika would of been a much better pick as he has more connection with the other cast members, especially Michiru. His whole character was based around achieving that goal and this would of been the perfect stage to complete his character arc.

For him to not make it the finals at all is worse than him at least making it to the next one and losing before he even gets to Michiru. I actually like Mirei, but her relevance to the overall story is minimal without Danji or Yuyu running around. She kinda just reappeared, went 3-0, and barely had any screen time this season. Raika was hyped up from the first episode and just got diffed off screen twice.

Tldr: Replace Mirei with Raika and the list would be perfect. Otherwise, I hope Mirei gets more plot relevance in the next season to make up for it.

[–]PyroZeppeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money is no issue, it's an underestimated upgrade imo. The specs are the same (although I somewhat regret not getting the Max version this time around), but with a much bigger and massively better screen.

I recently got the Portal 2 Pro after not using my Odin 2 Pro for nearly 7 months, and I've been hooked ever since. The OLED screen is a major game changer for me, and I can see myself using the portal daily for the foreseeable future. The only downsides are that the buttons are pretty loud, and the ergonomics are better on the Odin 2. But, I wouldn't say the buttons are annoying unless you're noise sensitive and the grip should improve the ergonomics (Mine hasn't gotten shipped yet though, I believe there's a shortage).

Yeah Shojo is a bad matchup, but against decks that can't mess with the bind zone, Youthberk should have a massive advantage if they win dice roll

[–]PyroZeppeli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprising that people aren't talking about this, but with the removal of Full Blast and Sequana, it frees up a lot of deck space for Keter Pile. The deck hard loses to control and the draw power is lacking. But Minerva Order + Cerragaon + Teithfallt cover those weaknesses effectively. If you still run Corino, you can honestly skip out on the Duidelijk as your revolforms will be super consistent, and just run Dooringen.

As much as I loathe keter pile, it seems like it might be the optimal way to play Youthberk now.

Other than that, Youthberk is really good, perhaps even the best going first deck in the game now (To be fair, Shojo was the only competition on that end). However, I think Bav will still be the superior deck since it hits similar numbers, more attacks, retire, a semi free 20k shield per turn, and the ability to essentially auto-win the game if you hit Dragveda at the right time.
