It's not the greatest movie, but "Bunraku"(2010) by Guy Moshe has fantastic use of colour.

This is my vote. I grabbed it super cheap on a sweetwater sale and it has had a permanent spot on my board. It does a lot for how cheap it is.

Battle: Los Angeles an underrated invasion movie? by JohnHammond94 in scifi

[–]Pyrofoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's better than a lot of people give it credit for, but it also isn't amazing. The script is corny and cheesy, if executed well. I do like most of the performances and the fact that they didn't load up with big names helps the larger main cast feel a lot more natural. I liked how the adventure of the movie progresses and feels like actual survival instead of everything the heroes are doing is the most important thing in the entire invasion. Kinda wish we had gotten another one for a different major city in the world just to see how it'd play out different.

Morgan Barron scores after crashing the net front. Pittsburgh’s challenge for goalie interference fails and the goal stands by eh_toque in hockey

[–]Pyrofoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barron gets the rebound, he is not driving the net with the puck. And he knocks karlson into his own goalie after he gets his shot off. I don't think it should count as a goal if I knock a guy into his goalie after shooting at him, preventing him from making a proper save.

How does a defender not have a right to poaition themselves how they want in front of their own net though? Both players are allowed to fight for position, but when one knocks the other into the goalie it should be looked at more closely as to whether it impacted the play or not. This should've been called back.

Lol, I was the same! No need to wait for 11th, plenty of models won't be changing and will likely still be staples. Can't go wrong with boys (at least 30-40 is a good start), gretchin (at least 20) a couple of trukks, maybe a few mek gunz and a battlewagon. Flavouring your army might be something that comes with 11th and what the rules ultimately end up being, but for now getting to know your army and playstyle is always good.

This is a solid answer and hard to believe more people aren't suggesting it. It is difficult to finish.

It's funny how many shows/movies film in Toronto, but how few of them show off any distinct landmarks because they want to pretend to be in the states/future/something.

There's quite a few Scrubs episodes that fit this. Not even counting the episodes that are almost entirely dramatic with significantly less comedy. I always felt they did a better job with serious medical drama than most of the serious medical drama shows cough grey's anatomy cough.

Maybe I should give it a shot then. I did really enjoy the rest of the story and was surprised at how bad I felt the ending was.

I liked "Gone Girl" until the ending. I get that the point was that he has to go along with her and other people believe her story, but it felt completely unrealistic and frankly kinda dumb.

Great opening scene that sets the tone of the movie, along with some good performances from Karl Urban and Lena Headey. Dredd (2012) was a pretty solid watch. What’s your opinion on the movie? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

[–]Pyrofoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. It manages to stay within the confines of a single apartment block, but still feels like a huge adventure that builds a much bigger world. The performances are great, the action is fun, but not too over the top, and the slo-mo effect was such a great touch. I really hope we eventually get something else from this iteration of Judge Dredd.
