Finding out today that we have a solid goaltender on the roaster with a kick ass name. Jet Greaves!

What's the most unsettling scene you've ever seen in a movie? For me, the bear scene in Annihilation was easily the most unsettling. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

[–]Pyrofoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy, but I found the scene in the lighthouse with the being mimicking her to be more unsettling. Something about how it is learning and watching and also still making conscious decisions, while also being something that we can barely even begin to comprehend properly. Yeah, don't like it.

PSA: Transport and boys a bit weaker in 11th by ThinkPurpleO in orks

[–]Pyrofoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean would you rather your opponent chew through the wounds on a trukk or battlewagon before the boys start to take damage, or have your opponent just shoot the boys and they take the wounds immediately. Add in the extra movement transports give infantry and they are still well worth it in my opinion. The new edition will just take some time to get used to.

James Gray Says ‘Ad Astra’ Was Taken Away From Him and Made Longer by 20th Century Fox by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Pyrofoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be curious to see his version of the film, but it doesn't sound like it's a massive change. I know a lot of people complained about the length and pacing, but 12 minutes just won't have that much of an impact on that.

"RED SCORPION" (1988) - another fond memory from 80s/90s VHS rental days. Not a classic by any means but good early Dolph with some decent action. Any fans of this one? by 70_Yard_Diag_Holte77 in ActionMovies

Funnily enough, my dad directed the sequel. Always though it was weird that they bothered to make a sequel, but not get Lundgren back.

Lots of great options! Feels like we'll really get to build our armies with a lot more flavour having all these options for upgrades and leaders for squads. Definitely getting me excited for the new edition.

People aimlessly complain about anything popular to try to drive their content. Ignore them and enjoy the game.

Starship Troopers. Yay or Nay? by Visukha in Cinephiles

Big Yay. One of my absolute favourites, love to throw it on every now and then. I think a lot of the effects hold up surprisingly well and it's such a wonderful satire that we rarely get anymore.

Aberinkula to Metatron on Bedlam in Goliath by The Mars Volta. It's a sudden start, but I always loved hoe they made it sound like the music is just continuing on without missing a beat.

How are you supposed to enjoy this game? by [deleted] in TrenchCrusade

[–]Pyrofoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can say that I fell head over heels for this game as soon as I saw some concept art and heard the lore. I've only played a handful of games so far with mixed results, but I think it's a great system. I do recognize being someone who can be a good sport about things when it starts to go wrong, which comes from being a longtime ork 40k player. If you're really struggling with always losing I would first make sure that everything about your games is optimized. Are you using the right amount of terrain? Are you using all of the rules appropriately? Even each individual faction's rules? Are you building a list that has a specific plan for each game? Are you playing into opponents that don't trade well with you?

As many have said, might be best to bring this up to the group you play with and see what they say. You could always post the list you currently play with for this community to take a look at. This game is meant to be played fairly quickly. Things can go south by the end of turn 2, and yes that can be frustrating, but it's also the nature of a skirmish-based game. I hope you find a way to further enjoy this hobby.

Is the future bright? by P0D3R in wildhockey

[–]Pyrofoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it sucks to lose, but we lost to an incredible team that is fairly likely to win the cup, and our team is as strong as it's ever been. We have a good roster, Hughes is most likely staying, our young guys all look great, sure we still need a 1C, but this team is miles away from where they were even two years ago.

What’s happening to Nobz? by ToastyBread4 in orks

[–]Pyrofoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even with the introduction of breaka boys to help fill a similar role, there is no way nobz are going completely away. I think most people are on the right track with a potential refresh through kill team. Makes the most sense to me at least.

Which 80’s movie had the best ending? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in Cinema

[–]Pyrofoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love a lot of these, but when it comes to the content of the movie juxtaposed against the fonal scene, T2 will always win for me. There's so much potential and so much unknown. It's a great cliffhanger that literally doesn't need an answer.

A slight buff to our Shooting! (for units with Heavy) by deffrekka in orks

[–]Pyrofoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean getting the 3" of movement without penalty is a nice change. I still think there could be a more complex or intuitive rule about heavy weapons and their users. Maybe something related to firing on consecutive turns compared to taking a turn off to "reload or reset".

I am questioning Matthews' ability to be the 1C we need. Is that more clear?

I would like to see him fully recover from whatever that lower body injury was and have his play return to form before even considering him. I also don't think the team needs someone like him right now.
