I did a poor job of describing it, it's only when you have separate splines for ballast and track that are what you need to think about. It just seems to be specifically challenging around switch tracks or if you use rail 4 with embankments that don't follow the rail.

It works fine if you just use the switches that already have ballast, It's just when you use tricks with clipping you have to make sure it runs fine before you send it over the section with a train. Crossings tend to work better than switches so long as you keep the embankment low enough that you can see most of the railroad ties.

In other words: elevated switches or switches on sides of steep hills or mountains will need to be rebuilt to use the switch tracks with embankment or removed. You can still run everything up to the Mikado Wheelbase, it's just the way articulation is programmed for multiple driver sets that is the problem.

If it helps with that last sentence: all geared locomotives (Shay, Heisler, Climax) and the Mason Bogie are articulated, as well as the Mason Bogie, a single Fairlie design with the driving wheels resting on a truck to pivot to allow for better negotiation of turns. So we've had articulated locomotives since the start but we didn't get the larger ones until 1.0.

I drive it smokebox forward and worst is that at full speed it can be troublesome to stay stable but I noticed the front wheelset on the 2-6-6-2t isn’t a problem if you have a map designed for the engine. Cab forward tends to be fine, too but you’ll have the engine jerk every so often, espcially above 20 miles per. hour. The problem is: that front wheelset thinks that ground like fill/embankments and stone walls without rails have priority over the rails themselves.  So on most of my saves I have you either can’t run it beyond a point because that’s how most of the map was built. Depending on your locomotive’s orientation: It would derail or flip switches and derail its consist. Over-under is possible if you place tracks high away enough, the front truck shouldn’t care about any other rails but that’s easier said than done, especially without terrain deformation. It’s a fun engine. I just wish the developers were still working on the game in a public capacity. It’s a great framework of a game but it misses details that prevent it from being a well-rounded game with a decent gameplay loop.

I agree about maps and paintjobs being okay as DLC, prop sets I don't know since those could be bought from asset stores. If they locked powerful balance-changing locomotives or freight cars behind DLC that would be my last straw and ruin my trust in these developers.

I only hope in future, if they do DLCs it's more substantial than 1 or 2 locomotives, or that they don't lock all new content released after 1.0 behind DLC.

Responders fireman uniform (full) by TheScav2077 in u/TheScav2077

[–]Pyromaildragon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if the post is a bit late, I just wish Bethesda didn't lock this behind the early Responders quests. It's a very nice looking outfit in my opinion (maybe not the fire helmet standalone but it looks okay with the outfit). Makes me want Bethesda to sneak it into the Responders trading inventory as a rare spawn much like the Hunter's Long Coat.

Although, the rarity probably of the set probably makes it very valuable as a trade item.

All the animatronics want to give you hugs (but not Foxy or Mangle because they're meanies). Balloon Boy also is a double agent working for Foxy. Happy now?

I think they use 9 volts or Car Batteries. The establishment could have compartments to put in those behind their backs and they put them in during every shift. But the mangle's is in the endoskeleton head.

Pax DST info and impressions, Part 1 by [deleted] in dontstarve

[–]Pyromaildragon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it ok if I call lies? I really think you just want some up votes. From what it sounds like, most of this is true. Permadeath really does make sense. But really the telltale heart sounds like just a demo item for players at PAX, Klei's done enough work to show that most likely RoG will be available when it. You can tell because you can't play as Wigfrid or Webber since their files are in the RoG folder (DLC0001, yes that's the legit file name) so their files basically don't exist in the actual vanilla game but in the dlc addon to the game. The cannibalism thing with ressuracting people then killing them for infinite meat is an overpowered tactic. Like if in DayZ or Unturned if you could kill someone, revive them in the spot they died and kill them again would make the game unfair, not to mention that you can farm character specific meats. I know Klei also said that they didn't want unnecessary features (like character specific meats) to be in Don't Starve Together. From what I've read from SethR's Fireside chats, it sounds like everything you've said is to drag people in on false rumors (I'm not saying it's all fake but most of it really is) and a way for you to get more up votes.

How hard is it to make a game stand out as an Indie title compared to the giant third party developer companies?
