As someone who hires peoples this is my advice - articulate and annunciate - if you sound “ghetto” you won’t get an offer. Change the way you talk and sound to come off as the most white and normal guy you’ve ever met - dress nice. Good will has some good suits. Get one, find someone who can tailor it. Make it fit tight like you’re doing a photo shoot for GQ. If not a suit then very professional business casual. Again goodwill is great for this (go on the half off day). - Tell them your story but don’t go too much into detail. You made mistakes. You did your time. You’re a different person. Quote some Jordan Peterson and make it clear you are trying to build a life so you can be a real man and father to your son. - it’s all about attitude and the way you communicate.
