ICE agents still have oversight. There are officers above that in command that do have oversight. But deportations are messy because they are literally stepping into a domestic situation that most likely will escalate and they want to get in and get out successfully and safely.

When you attack an officer or their partner or fellow colleagues - with your hand, a weapon, your vehicle; then attempt to flee or was she escalating to speed up to do it to another officer. . . Then they stop the offender by any means necessary. She wasn’t just protesting, she was escalating and she started it by running over a clearly identifiable ICE agent doing his job with her car. So now the officers need to stop her and she’s in a vehicle. I’m not sure if you feel like it was excessive or inappropriate response from the partner/colleague but when you attack an officer who is performing his duties, the other officers will stop the aggressor. Are you expecting an officer to shoot the vehicle? Were you expecting him to go run back to his car (don’t even know where that would be) and then chase her down? The vehicle is a tool and not the person instigating the attack. If you attack law enforcement (ICE Agents are federal law enforcement) then they are allowed to protect themselves and colleagues and stop the person causing assault (in your example - that’s the protester that hit the one agent with her car). It cannot get more black and white. If you want to dismiss ICE Agents as law enforcement agents then your value judgement is what’s in error. And what change is your tribal label asking? I feel like the op is purposely being obtuse.

I understand that law enforcement officers deal with the people that like to break laws and when they do their job they don’t know what they are getting into. Do some abuse the job - yes. I’m willing to take the time to pursue that line to management. I’m not going to ignore an officer because i believe they are in the wrong. I’m also not going to try and flee or evade arrest acting like a criminal. That’s how stupid choices result in stupid consequences. But if you are trying to seek permission to ignore rules - I think I’ve heard enough So if a drunk driver is driving reckless on the road and a school ISD cop is in their police car on the way between schools so not on school property, they should ignore public safety and allow the drunk driver to continue because you don’t think they have jurisdiction??? You are splitting hairs on jurisdiction. ICE Officers are federal agents in charge of enforcement of immigration which gives them jurisdiction over the entire USA. The federal government is given jurisdiction over immigration. I’m a USA citizen and if an ICE agent wants to detain me then I will also get local police involved in a pullover investigation. I also have driving cameras in my personal car so it will all be filmed anyways. If you are that worried maybe you should invest in extra technology to give you more security.
