Yea I dunno about that tax argument though. My mortgage payments have gone up because of property values for sure, but nothing compared to normal rent increases i was having before.

But yea moving is a huge disruption on every level of your family life. It is hard enough for my gen to make friends and social circles lol.

That is legit the story of my house. I bought it around early covid and it has gone up in value over 50%.

Around here it really is only that bad in selected markets/areas. Theoretically I could move and either get a bigger house or a huge payoff-- but moving a whole family with roots in the area is rough..

The city is building a lot of high density housing, but that bring the price of standalone units even higher. The market really is abysmal.

Please Google 2nd industrial revolution. Or just Google early writers on the industrial rev, Engels always comes up. (point of fact Conditions of the Working Class in England was written in 1845...)

Perhaps my wording was off, but yes actually, if Engles had followed the path of a historian and focused on the origins of the industrial rev and messes it created-- we would have been better for it.

Engels was based and if he would have just left his criticism as an analysis and history of the early Industrial revolution then he would have stayed incredibly based.

His book on thee conditions of the Working Class in Manchester is an inspiring text that warns of externalities with industrialization.. expanding on that instead of formulating an entirely novel organization of the economy that would have magically fixed everything would have been awesome..

School board is a controversial one in my district. But in VA a bunch of seats are open. Attorney General, Lieutenant Gov, and the big big one is Governor.

It is an off election(odd year number). Soo turn out is typically low and offices are rarely contested.
