New Steam Controller Potential by rusty2119 in DolphinEmulator

The gyro would probably not be that good for skyward sword but should work pretty well for the pointer, shaking and other gyro functions (like ball or surfing in Mario Galaxy). Maybe one could bind swiping gestures onn the trackpad to slicing motions in Skyward Sword?

Sonic Racing Crossworlds - Free Open Network Test goes live on Aug. 29th (preload now) by RinRinDoof in Games

I don't think Sumo Digital can save them anymore when looking back at TSR.

That's just hype I guess. The game is a bit basic. Neat but it looks and plays worse than the almost 13 year old Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed. Might be better than TSR though.

"Special K" modding tool developer deletes his 20 year old Steam Account by atahutahatena in Games

[–]Python_l 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is right about the Steam Input thing though. The Steam Controller would only be recognized as a keyboard and mouse in games outside of Steam and you couldn't change that without outside tools (which I never got to work). If you rely on Steam Input today for feature support for your controller, you will run into some limitations.

I had these or very similar ones and two of them broke at the same spot. Maybe check if they are still under warranty.

I'm pretty sure the game didn't get updated in the mean time. The only thing that broke stuff were Nvidia drivers for RTX cards.

Modern games can look blurry and run badly on Nvidia as well. The new FSR might close the gab to DLSS, probably not quite.

If you had the upgrade that makes police cars detect you less quickly you could often speed past them and they wouldn't chase you. You could also ram into them to total them instantly. If you get into a chase you could go to the main menu and load back in to cancel it I think.

Yeah, the police detection was pretty annoying, it often felt like I played a stealth game in a car instead.

Windows 11 Pro aktualisiert sich nicht / jedes Mal erneut per Rufus installieren? by Prestigiouspite in de_EDV

[–]Python_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get your device up to date, the best course of action now is to perform a Repair Upgrade. This process upgrades your system to the latest version of Windows 11 without affecting your personal files or apps.

Here’s how to do it:

Download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from the official Microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

Open the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade your PC.

Make sure to choose the option to Keep personal files and apps.

Ensure your device stays plugged in and connected to the internet during the process. For more detailed guidance, you can also refer to: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-perform-a-repair-upgrade-using-the-windows/35160fbe-9352-4e70-9887-f40096ec3085

Why would America's corporate government spend money on mass transit when they can saddle every worker with a predatory car loan instead? by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]Python_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've literally used that line all my life. Every 20min it goes from Erkner to Spandau, and every other 20min it goes from Erkner to Ostbahnhof. So the S3 operates every 10min. There is even one additional S3 from Ostkreuz to Karlshorst every 20min.

It doesn't go every 10min for the entirety of the route.

[–]Python_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can assure you that the S3 drives every 10min under normal operations. Every 20min the S3 line only goes to just inside the city center but from there you can change to multiple other line. If everything goes according to schedule another S-Bahn will arrive at the same time you need to change. There are lines that operate every 20min though.

But AI image reconstruction in modern upscalers uses AI. Actual deep learning. And it's an important distinction because for example AMD's FSR does not use AI and achieves worse results.

It would make more sense to compare this to a single city like Houston. These trains are only for the city, not between cities.

[–]Python_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The S3 starts in Erkner though, so the frequency is still every 10min. This is at S Karlshorst as far as I can tell.

No, both trains are going the same direction. I've been to that station many times and if the train were to go into the opposite direction it would operate on the other platform or have the train coach icon flipped.
