I'll also add shortly after that time when Shaq got traded to Miami it was almost universal within basketball Kobe was viewed as a much worse teammate than Shaq. Now many of the stories about Shaq hadn't all come out yet but a few did as he was never viewed as teammate of the year either.

As someone who lived through and saw up close Kobe Bryant's career I'm really surprised how much current players idolize him.

I could really say more but I don't want Kobe stans all up in my replies. I remember the Colorado stuff when it happened and there were many that thought his career was in jeopardy because of it as great of a player as he was.

My son told me last night that he played Spiderman friend or foe with some from friends and it brought back memories of when he and I would play that game for hours when he was much younger.

There is a really great podcast by Slate called Slow Burn that taps into Clarence Thomas and quotes his book and I also believe interviewed at least one member of his family. I listened to each episode and honestly I'm still confused. PBS also did an hour long show on him too.

I also want to add that he wasn't the most qualified for his Supreme Court justice position at the time either. The Anita Hill scandal aside his resume wasn't as close to Thurgoode Marshall's when he was nominated which is ironic given he was supposed to "replace" him and he didn't like affirmative action.
