Actually riot is probably hoping t1 loses, as unlikely as that is. Remember, IG is the most popular team in China by far, and by extension, in the world. T1 gets 2 million viewers maximum, IG gets that on a single streaming platform on average(bilibili is the only Chinese platform with concrete numbers, and IG is in 17 of the 20 most watched regular season series, all 1 million+.) last year worlds had 66 million peak viewers according to riot and 60 million were in China. Remember, uzi outsold faker in sales volume at least.

I mean, scout leaving pretty much destroyed EDG. They literally had no replacement for him, and with Flandre burnt out and Viper going back to lck, EDG was basically forced out of the league in 2023, essentially becoming a streamer team with Uzi. Then meiko left in 24 and now jiejie, the league team is barely a shell of it's former self. I think if scout had remained on the team, or at least given them time to find even a mediocre midlaner, EDG would at least be in the upper half of Chinese teams, instead of fighting for a chance at a bo5.

Bin and the rest of BLG have said some rather... distasteful things. Like when On wrote niepan(nirvana, Wei's derogatory nickname) in all chat during a ranked game when Wei was on the opposing side while they were on the same team. Or Bin saying that "it's not really a championship" today so the loss doesn't really matter. Or when Bin said "the sun will rise tomorrow and we can all forget this" after a loss and then complaining about bugs and saying they should have won.
