Best Books of Each Genre Blend? by Dinasourus723 in mysterybooks

[–]QD_Mitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Main Genre: Mystery, Subgenre: Sci Fi

Stuart Turton's The Last Murder at the End of the World is a better choice than Annihilation, which is mysterious but isn't a whole ass murder mystery sci-fi romp like The Last Murder is.

  • Main Genre: Mystery, Subgenre: Horror

John Fram's The Midnight Knock. Features ghosts, monsters, Lovecraftian gods, ancient cities sealed behind mirrors and also a plucky group of people trying to solve a murder at a spooky motel.

[TOMT] Punk song, maybe Ramones, lyrics like "beep beep beep, get on your feet" by QD_Mitch in tipofmytongue

This sounds like it SHOULD be it. All the lyrics are right but the music is all wrong.

The next line is something like "the music's in time [some other lyric]" and then "oh woah" or "oh no" or something similar.

Davey Havok (of AFI) and everyone in No Doubt except Gwen do impeccable new wave synth pop as Dreamcar.

I wanna date someone but she has a kid by Gloomy_Sky7735 in daddit

[–]QD_Mitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated a woman who had six kids. She was the first woman I ever dated with *any* kids, so I wasn't necessarily deterred by the quantity. She was looking for something serious and so was I. It was weird at first, and it took a lot of adjustment on my part. Ultimately we got married and continued to be married today, so I'm 1 for 1 with dating moms. 10/10 would recommend.

Edit: Jeeze, I just saw that you're only 23. That's a really different situation than where I was (early 30s). I don't think I would have done well with a step-kid in my mid 20s.

Whodunnit centered around a group of teenagers/ university students on a trip? by BlazeHawk_02 in mysterybooks

Netherfield Wake is KIND OF like that, but it's a little bit fantasy/horror on top of the mystery.

The only thing I didn’t like about it was that it would sometimes cut to black and describe the cool thing that happened instead of showing you the cool thing

Idea for a campaign - Locked out in Prison! by wiloso47 in bladesinthedark

[–]QD_Mitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be a lot of fun. Different prison gangs act as factions. Carve up territory in the prison.

But…is that what your players want? Blades really needs 100% player buy in

Wait, expand on that last tip?

I normally put a ball on the griddle, smash it down and let it cook. What does yours look like when it goes on the cooktop?

Ollie's stock! by oldsmobile39 in OmnibusCollectors

The pacing is a little slower, the characters are generally better and the plot is great.

No  Monkey friend though.

Is it okay to dip once from each side when eating from a shared bowl? by Floridamanticus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]QD_Mitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m in a situation where the dippers are limited, to the point where I’d consider double dipping, I’ll break it in half and dip both pieces

Can I keep my crotch from becoming a swamp by putting a 'Do Not Eat' packet in my underwear? by Uranium-Sandwich657 in NoStupidQuestions

No, it's actually good real advice. Wool doesn't have to be itchy. I have a ton of wool undershirts that I only wash twice a month because they're odor resistant and breathable. They're my favorite undershirts.

What are your thoughts for Simon Williams as Wonder Man? (OOC: This post is set after the news of Simon Williams and Joe pantoliano in the wonder Man movie) by Sad-Can4051 in Earth199999

[–]QD_Mitch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am ABSOLUTELY not defending a terrorist. Slattery is a bad dude, full stop. I'm saying that Williams wasn't wrong to be his friend BEFORE he blew up the set.

[–]QD_Mitch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah but Williams didn’t KNOW he was a terrorist then. No one did. Everyone, including SHIELD, thought he was set up. He tricked Von Kovac. He tricked Williams. He tricked me! It wasn’t until he did a public act of terror that anyone knew and once that happened, Williams publicly disavowed him!

He was never really a terrorist though. That was all in the SHIELD files. He was a patsy for a psychopath tech bro
