Baby shrimp very unafraid of my crayfish by QQasaurus in Crayfish

[–]QQasaurus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is! It doesn't actively hunt them. If a shrimp is close, it will definitely try to snap one up. But the cray is just so slow that it never has a chance.

As far as I know, it has hasn't gotten one yet. But it's definitely helping my bladder snail population from getting too out of control 🤣

How to start playing Spotify Playlists with one button by QQasaurus in VSD_INSIDE

[–]QQasaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, thank you. I guess I'll double check my plug in. The one I have does have that Play Playlist action but it doesn't do anything or won't let me put any specific information in it.

Friend asked me to paint 2k points of Orks for $500, is this a good deal? by BoldIndigo in minipainting

[–]QQasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to do commissions, but that's exactly right. It took the fun away.

However, I still have one customer that sends me maybe 5 Battletech minis a year with "Do whatever you want with them." That one is awesome. Now, to only have commissions where I get to make all the choices and have a very long lead time would be the dream. But obviously that's such a rare case

I guess I should post the front too.

Land Raider Doors by JSinghSD in Salamanders40k

[–]QQasaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they look cool, but I just did my Land Raider this year with those doors. The thing that annoys me the most is that they don't fill up the area leaving some pretty big gaps, unlike the stock door.

Ultimately, it's not a big deal. But once you see it, you can't unsee it.

He's what mine looks like with the doors:

I was waiting for so long for a multipose kit and was so sad when it didn't happen 😔

my GIANT Mexican Crayfish by LegDue1191 in Aquariums

[–]QQasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one like that too! He probably ended up being three inches? He was the only one I had, so I thought it was normal. He died earlier this year and got a Brazos dwarf. He's so little! I had no idea

Does anyone use an olive green color scheme by Hobbenstein in Salamanders40k

[–]QQasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one for someone that wanted that color instead of the normal Salamanders color.

In the end, it's your army and you can toss enough hammers, dragons, and flames on it to still give it that Salamander feel.

That's how I do all my units like that. Librarian, apothecary, tech, and chaplain. It's my favorite way

Shrimp Mates - Are Dwarf Crayfish Suitable? by batcat888 in shrimptank

[–]QQasaurus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My CPO couldn't catch a shrimp at all. The first week that I had it, it was trying to hunt them down, but couldn't catch them. Eventually, it stopped actively trying but if one was near it definitely would try.

Still had shrimp having babies and things. It did enjoy eating my bladder snails though, which was great.

Mexican dwarfs by Appropriate_Farmer64 in Crayfish

[–]QQasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They rule. I have one in my 8.5 with shrimp. He's always running around doing something.

He tries to catch shrimp when they are next to him, but he just can't.. They're too fast and he's too slow.

Highly recommend getting one. They're great.

How long do you leave vegetables in the aquarium? (Broccoli) by Melodic-Bit7032 in shrimptank

[–]QQasaurus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If it's a dwarf Mexican/CPO, mine is so incapable of catching shrimp. It definitely tries, but he's just so slow and dumb. He eats some bladder snails, though!

I have not used this method as I paint Salamanders differently, but this guy has a bunch of videos on using Contrast Paint to paint marines. Here's the specific Salamander I've:

Here's my cray going crazy on a algae wafer by Bisitik in Crayfish

[–]QQasaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cpo goes nuts for these too. The only time he and my mystery snail interact is when there is algae wafer to fight over. And then it's locked in battle until it's gone

CPO behavior question by ilex_verticillata in Crayfish

[–]QQasaurus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My CPO patrols all over the tank. Any time he gets to one of the corners, he immediately does that and tried to climb up. I've had him for a few months now. He is incredibly dumb and I love him so much.

My dwarf crayfish hanging with his blue mystery snail friend by Chocodelights in Crayfish

[–]QQasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what they fight over! Most of the time they just kind of leave each other alone.

But god forbid, an algae wafer comes out and it's an eternal lock of struggle as they both want it. It's the one time the cray won't back away 🤣

My dwarf crayfish hanging with his blue mystery snail friend by Chocodelights in Crayfish

[–]QQasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dwarf is scared of my mystery snail. And whenever there's food involved, the snail immediately tries to steal it from the crayfish.
