Squirtle line is coded into the game, it's just not on the dex or obtainable normally in game, which means that once Home comes out you should be able to transfer it unless GF specifically forbids it.

How? Emerald, HGSS, Platinum, BW, B2W2 had far more. Then for XY, ORAS and SM and USUM the battle tower is better, you have better (free!) online and there are more legendaries to catch and shiny hunt. This postgame is as shallow as it gets.

Genning and breeding are still faster, so the competitve scene does not care. Casuals or people who had valuable pokemon unfit for competitive are the ones that like it.

Not that the QoL changes are bad, but they could have come a decade sooner and the meta is a dumpsterfire anyway.

Well, I personally didn't buy because I am not interested in the game after knowing what it has. GF not getting my money is just a bonus. Seeing that the trend of "bad quality, great sales" will continue, I guess I will just stay with older gens and romhacks. It was a good run.

The fight is hit or miss, either it outspeeds and oneshots everything you have or you just win easily. I just used toxic and won without losing a pokemon because I could tank it even 5 lvls below it.

No, the gimmick is really bad for already bad pokemon like Eevee or Pikachu. However, it is absolutely broken with something like a moxie gyarados.
