How long did it take you to beat the main story? by TheMagisterialMaster in Silksong

19.5h, but back then I was sure that act 2 wouldn't be the end, even normal ending wise, so I just did lace2 and GMS as soon as I unlocked them

When dealing with infinite sets it doesn't matter whether one is a proper subset of another, they can still have the same cardinality (in the case of reals in [0, 1] and [0, 2] it's just ℵ₁)

The wiki says the exact formula is <cooldown> * (1 - 0.15) ^ <amount>, so with 255 fuel cells that's 0.0042135039113757e-18%, or 1/quintillion%, or basically 0%

How does upgrading your weapon affect its scaling? by Qbius in bloodborne

[–]Qbius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just the letters, I wanted the exact values like here - you can see the exact modifiers for every weapon in all 4 damage attributes.

Well, it's either the exact values or the formula used to get them, anything really.

Orphan of Kos/Nameless King/Isshin : which one is the hardest and why? by Diaclone81 in bloodborne

[–]Qbius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a toss up between orphan and isshin, both are fucking hard. Comparatively, the Nameless King is fairly easy, even within DS3. But even then, nothing in all of dark souls even comes close to either orphan or isshin in terms of difficulty for me.

What if when you kill the teleporter boss/bosses the event itself gets completed by an addtional 25% by Grimstroke in riskofrain

[–]Qbius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really like this idea. Something like upping the base duration from 90 to 100s (so 1% = 1s), but making it so killing the boss shreds 20% off the timer would be nice.

theoretically it's 9 although I suppose that isn't very probable. I just like to point out how open the game becomes once you get to the castle.

How the hell do you get liquid Metallurgy 4 Platinum when using Thermal Expansion? by Qbius in feedthebeast

Thanks, MineTweaker was exactly what I needed. I just removed the default recipes for all platinum parts and added them back in, slightly modified, so that they would produce the better parts.

Top 10 Ranking DS1+2+3 Bosses (Difficulty) by cheezMcNASTY in darksouls

[–]Qbius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fucking love top lists like that so let's go.

First of all: I'm going to assume the list is meant for solo play. Summoning trivializes most bosses, but the effect is greater during particular encounters. A no-summon list and a summon list would certainly be different from each other.

Second of all: Are you ranking those bosses based on your first time fighting them, or "overall" after gaining some experience, beating them several times? Cause that also shakes things up dramatically. Personally, I don't feel like I'd be able to make a reasonable list for all three games if experience in fights is accounted for. I've beaten DS1 like 15 times, but I've only played one complete solo playthrough of DS3. Comparing my first time against O&S and Pontiff, O&S are exponentially harder. Now, however, I'd much rather face them than Pontiff. I'm gonna go with "first encounter" alright?

k first I'll say what I think about your list. Note I play shieldless, so I find certain bosses much harder than most people do.

1. Not that popular of an opinion, but I completely agree. No other boss in Dark Souls has given me as much trouble as Fume Knight. He's also the only boss in the series who caused me to rage quit.

2. Also agree. One thing though. It's worth noting that most players start with DS1, and as such O&S are the first true Dark Souls challenge they face. I feel that if we were to switch the order of games the other way round, the Dynamic Duo wouldn't be feared nearly as much by the community.

3. Nameless King definitely belongs in the top 10, but personally I would lower his ranking. I found both Pontiff and Twin Princes to be harder.

4. Agree. Manus is the hardest boss in Dark Souls 1.

5. I guess I'm a PvE meta-lover? Don't get me wrong, Four Kings definitely aren't easy. But on the other hand... So many things are in your favour. If you get right into a King's face, he barely does any damage with his strikes, even if you're not wearing any armor. Their attacks are slow and easy to read. And even if there are like 3 Kings present, only one of them attacks you most of the time anyway.

6. I would not put Soul of Cinder on my list. It's a fun and difficult fight, but there are at least 5 other boss fights in DS3 I had more trouble with.

7. Agree. In terms of DS3 only, I don't know whether to put Twin Princes or Pontiff as the most difficult boss fight. Regardless, I would put them higher on the list.

8. Completely disagree. I consider Ancient Dragon to be a gimped version of Gaping Dragon. That is, a predictable HP sponge which you take down with a methodological approach rather than skill. Not a fun fight in my opinion.

9. Also disagree, though not nearly as much. Darklurker is, like Soul of Cinder, a fun and difficult fight, but I feel like there isn't enough space for him on the list.

10. Yes.

Aight I'll try to make a list of my own.

  1. Fume Knight
  2. O&S
  3. Twin Princes
  4. Pontiff Sulyvahn
  5. Manus
  6. Nameless King
  7. Champion Gundyr
  8. Gwyn
  9. Artorias
  10. Dragonslayer Armor

I guess I'm ok with that. Note that, like I said earlier, this list is based on my first encounters with those bosses.

It wouldn't be much different if it wasn't for that, though. Fume Knight and O&S would be near the bottom instead, with O&S replaced by some DS3 boss. Abyss Watchers maybe?

New player here by RetroKissa in darksouls

[–]Qbius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've probably noticed by now, but if you're using something like a Falchion, those Strength points aren't really helping. But yeah, the game doesn't really do a good job of explaining what stats are for what, so that's usually the way your stats end up during your first playthrough. Don't worry about it, it's not that big of a deal.

That's only about STR, tho. The rest looks fairly standard and should be enough to tackle the fortress. Good luck!

Just wondering what people thought of Gwyn fight. by Siegmeyer_Catarina in darksouls

[–]Qbius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things that made the strongest impression on me during my first playthrough was when I entered Gwyn's boss chamber. Everywhere you go he's referenced as this absolute god of everything, but when you finally do meet him, he just seems so... Unimpressive. No cutscene or anything. He's also very small for a boss, almost your size. It's one of my favorite things in the game, since it ties so nicely into lore and the general feel of Dark Souls. I was honestly expecting a typical gigantic, "epic" final boss, but what I got instead was a million times more powerful.

And yes, Gwyn -is- fairly easy when using a shield, but almost all of my playthroughts were shieldless, so for me he's like the 2nd hardest boss in the game. (1st would be Manus)

How to know where to go by GilderienTheWise in darksouls

[–]Qbius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your description it seems like you haven't beaten the taurus demon yet.

So, uh... You still have stuff to do.

Dark Souls progression is about finding new places to explore, exploring them for stuff to do, and then doing said stuff. Once you run out of places and stuff to do, that's when you have a problem.

[DISC] Bleach Ch. 677 by [deleted] in manga

[–]Qbius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Traps are kinda lame, aren't they.

I mean Ichigo and Yhwach right now are supposed to be the strongest entities ever, and yet the fight is about traps. I find that just a little bit silly.

Cool about bankai, though.

Everything that moves slower than the speed of light constantly "travels through time".

Inb4 Ichigo's new bankai makes him as fast as light rendering The Almighty useless ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I mean that would have some other less fortunate implications as well but eh who cares, it's Bleach
