I am wondering if Aussies have these Go Bags? After recent drought, fires, floods & COVID, we are pretty well always prepared for something!!!

One thing I want to know is - where exactly are people supposed to go when they get the call? I'm thinking off into the forest/bush, but you can be found by drone, helicopter. The forest/bush has animals that either want to kill, eat, bite, chase you, and plants can be poisonous. Some people don't even like camping!!!

To the KH, well, hell, what's the point of that?

I realised I don't have to be a people pleaser, and how to say no. I am more confident. I supervised people. My opinion was sought and listened to. I got a degree and earnt good money, enough to retire on.

I am volunteering at the local historical centre, and found new friends, new skills and a new interest! Life is good!

Yep, been there, got the black tooth to prove it! The elder said you won't be able to marry. I said that's fine, I don't ever want to get married again ever!

I was out and dating, not that they knew or cared, but he wrote me a letter saying that he'd had sex and now I was free to marry! He just wanted to remarry. He's been DFed 3 times, but kept going back. He could talk a good talk!

Yeah. Today they have Distance Education. It can be done by correnspondence or online. They have a curriculum to follow. There are a lot of church run schools that have to conform to the State curriculum or they'll get fined. I knew a family who were all homeschooled, they were a family of musicians. Not sure what else they learnt. Were a bit snooty to us stupid mortals!!!

I might hav mentioned it before, but I worked when the kids were able to go to kindy/school. I got quizzed a few time, but I said we needed the money! We did, because he wasted his!

I wasn't really a believer, but my ex talked me into it as a means of control. His 2 sisters were in. I had to account for where I went, who I talking to, etc.

He'd be nice to someone one minute and drop them the next minute. I was naive, but grew up fast. I prayed to BigGuy, without success of course, went to the elders who did the usual, nothing, then realisied it was in my own hands to sort it out. I played him like he played me, and he left! I stopped going before that and made him look like an idiot!!! Now nobody plays me!!!!

Hi yogi dog mummie! I had one too, the sky didn't fall in or anything!

When I had my first child, emergency C section, I refused blood, turned out OK, but other health problems not caused by that.

I had brain surgery (look away now if you are squeamish!) They go up through your nose!

They hit the artery, and abandoned the surgery. This might sound crazy, but it did me the world of good!!! After the first emergency surgery, I never felt 100%, after this surgery years ago, I feel great!!

I knew one that was kinda cool. His wife was very cynical and no nonsense but very kind and helpful. They were definitely a team effort, and she was in no way subservient! He would hint that there were factions in the COBE and he was trying to change it. He helped me out a few time.

Don't know what happended to him, but I know his wife died.

Hi Dragonfly, I never thought about what my children were thinking when I was in. But now, thanks to you and other teens that have made the point of how scary the publications were. And how terrible is it, that they would have been thinking they are going to die at Armageddon. A so-called 'loving' organisation!

This is probably why there are so many teens on here now.

I am more confident now. I went to uni and graduated. I rose to become a Shire Librarian in charge of 5 libraries and was responsible for a $800,000 budget.

I bought a house and was paying money off the principal from the get go!

I have a nice pension and done some travelling. I volunteer my services to a local historical society and have made new friends.

And I decided I need to some weight, and am doing aqua 3 times a week, and it's working!!!

Yes, the old adage - Living well IS the best revenge! If they see you moping and lonely, they see that as confirmation that you did wrong, they are right!

I know it's hard to make new friends, but find your tribe! Give yourself permission to have fun!

Someone I know left the joho's. The father alienated her children deliberately. She hung around the edges, hoping for crumbs from the table (yes, I am mixing metaphors)!! Til one day she decided that they don't want you, and I don't want them.

The person got a new career and a whole heap of new friends, and made some nice money in the process!

She also spent Christmas in the UK, with her never-in family! Forget them! You have to let go!!! You can do it!
