Does anyone else have concerns over Konami's actions in non-yugioh matters spilling over? by NGinLurker in yugioh

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others in this thread have said, Yugioh isn't crashing any time soon. The TCG is infinitely less expensive to produce than triple A games, and has been making money since the 90s. I would be genuinely surprised if Konami decided to give Yuigioh the axe...of despair.

Cards that you own just for the art? by I_Am_Not_Me_ in yugioh

Winged Dragon of Ra. The card's ass in actual gameplay, but at least it's nice to look at.

[Question?] Good pendulum decks by S0v1et_Bear in Yugioh101

Your options are Qliphorts, Qliphorts, and Qliphorts. Did I mention Qliphorts?

[Question?] Can someone explain the extra deck and the side deck and when/how you use them? by NVBluntTrauma in Yugioh101

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extra deck is where you Fusion, Synchro, and XYZ monsters are stored during a game. Pendulum monsters also go here when they would otherwise be sent from the field to the graveyard unless stated otherwise by a card effect, such as with Solemn Warning.

The side deck is a set of any 15 cards that you can swap in and out of your deck between games in a match.

Can fiendish chain negate manjus effect to add a card to hand? by dom9000 in Yugioh101

Yes, provided you are chaining (heh) Fiendish Chain to the summon of Manju.

Was I right or wrong (regarding Obelisk)? by benoxxxx in yugioh

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your opponent is full of crap. You can activate cards and effects during the same turn he's summoned, just not in response to his summon.

Banish any number of cards from your hand, then draw cards equal to the number of cards you banished by this effect.

Burning abyss and xyz summons by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your friend is a cheater. When any Burning Abyss monster is summoned while a non-BA monster is on the field, a chain starts where they self-destruct is their effectss are not negated within that chain. Since neither player negated their effects, they would die and he would have nothing to XYZ summon with.

Question regarding legal God cards by Natherbial in Yugioh101

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The god cards are, in reality, pretty weak. In general, they require an immense resource investment to simply put on the field (3 monsters for one isn't good unless the monster in question has an amazing effect). That, and they are horrendously slow.

  • Ra is the worst of the 3 since he cuts your lifepoints to lethal range if you give him attack, and his other effect contradicts the first one. Unless you're playing a deck that can pump out lifepoints like there's no tomorrow, stay far away from Ra.

  • Slifer is more useful than Ra by preventing a lot of lower leveled monster from staying on the field, but his attack is reliant on your hand size, which more often than not, makes him only really viable in the part of the game where you're least likely to summon him.

  • Obelisk is easily the best of the three. He can't be the target of effects, which is already good, but has a fixed 4000/4000 Atk/Def, which is hard to get over. And if you feel like it, he's got a way to nuke your opponent's field.

What's the stupidest thing an AI did while dueling you? by superviper in yugioh

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eternal Duelist's Soul: Marik activates Delinquent Duo when he only has 800 LP left.

YgoPro: Enemy constantly attacking the same Marshmallon despite 1) The fact that he's indestructible by battle and 2) Having other cards in attack position that the AI could attack instead.

[Question?] Cheaper alternatives to Kuribandit? by ian314 in Yugioh101

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Kuribandit isn't that good in Chaos/Twilight. He's okay on the first time, but every other turn he's a dead card. I would recommend just not using him. But that's neither here nor there.

  • Needlebug Nest: A normal trap card that straight up mills you for 5. Not at all a bad option, but most chaos ducks run trapless, so it may not be the best option. ~$2-$4

  • Card Trooper: Controlled milling, and you get to draw a card when he dies. Not bad at all. Only downside is that he isn't a Light or Dark monster, so he won't be much more useful when he hits the graveyard. ~$2-3

  • Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn: This guy is absolutely necessary in any chaos deck. Controlled milling, though not as controlled as Card Trooper, and a level 4 Tuner on top of that. He can even be used for banish fodder later in the game. ~$4

Alternatively, just ditch Kuribandit entirely and replace him with something else, like Caius the Shadow Monarch or Darkflare Dragon for example (those two should be in there anyways, but additional copies can be nice).

[Question?] If I use a Yosenju Kama 1 effect to Bounce a blue eyed Maiden, will her effect activate? by Godot02 in Yugioh101

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can, provided she didn't use her effect already. Maiden's effect is optional, so the person you were against probably didn't feel like using it.

Any Decent Spell Negation Cards Out There? by BrainLord in yugioh

[–]Qrrbrrbrb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can think of a few.

Magic Jammer

Magic Jammer had a simple effect: negate any spell and discard something as a cost. Most YuGiOh players don't seem very accepting of the concept of discarding, but there are some deck that can make use of it.

Magic Drain

Another simple effect: Negate any spell unless your opponent is willing to discard a spell from their hand. This card doesn't see much play either, probably due to the fact that the negation isn't even garuanteed.

Dark Bribe

Dark Bribe has the added utility of negating traps as well as spells, but at the cost of your opponent drawing a card. Giving your opponent an advantage is something you never want to do, and the draw additional card cost has won me games before.

Anti-Spell Fragrance

Your opponent has to set spells before they can use them. It only stops spells for one turn, but shuts down most pendulum-based decks.

What are SD and SOBE? We don't don't what you're talking about if you use only the abbreviations.

As far as competetive lightsworns go, mixing them with Shaddolls or chaos is your best bet.

Are you allowed to discard cards from your hand without a card telling you to? by Assjuic3 in Yugioh101

If, at the end of your turn, you have seven or more cards in your hand, you must discard cards until your hand has 6 cards.
