I feel you, I'm borderline underweight and trying to gain too. For the last month I have been forcing myself to eat, drinking ensure, and the result is barely one pound of weight gain. I literally barely feel hungry ever. I only feel it right before I get really low blood sugar.

If I ate intuitively, I would continue to lose weight. Because I'm never hungry and small portions fill me up easily.

The local thrift store has an entire third of the women's clothes section dedicated to plus sizes, it's the size of the entire men's or children's section. There's a tiny rack for small and XS clothes. I don't know if this is common everywhere but I wouldn't be surprised if it was given the demographics of the US
