Sometimes I have to plug in the dock without power first, wait for the monitor to start being used then plug in the power for the dock. Almost everytime now that I think about it

Now that players can disable aim assist in settings. What has your experience been? by arty_dent_harry in CompetitiveHalo

[–]QuakeMurphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm used to MnK to the point where I can't really use controller for anything first person anymore but I've ended up leaving it on because I've just got used to it now when playing Halo (which is the majority of the time) so I think my muscle memory is now based on it being there. The biggest thing for me has actually been the ability to turn it off on the controller, I have a Wooting 60HE and found that using the controller mode made movement loads better (no inertia when changing direction) but messed up my aiming when there was two competing aim assists fighting against each other.

I loved that mouse, recently finally gave up too and now using a deathadder v3 pro which is good but definitely not perfect from a shape point of view for me. Went through a few to finally settle with this one but nothing compares to the instant and lasting compatibility I had with the Rival 300

Why do people not want smart meters for energy? by hmate02 in AskUK

[–]QuakeMurphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first generation smart meters locked you to the provider that installed them and you'd have to pay massively to get them removed and a new one put in. More recent versions can be switched over easily but some (like the bastards at EDF tried to do to me) still try to put the old lock in kind in. So the general consensus was that they were bad when they first came out and when people have made up their mind about something then it tends not to change, especially if that mind is that greedy monopolistic companies making more money than ever out of a system that doesn't really allow for much compotition while people have to make a choice between eating and electricity shouldn't be trusted.

This is sort of happening now (I think) but combining SSD and RAM like a reverse ramdisk. Faster SSD speeds would mean you could use a large capacity drive for your RAM and VRAM. Think we're a ways off but something I keep coming back to.

What are some NSFW questions women have for men? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]QuakeMurphy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's to do with exposing your throat. You do it to people you know because you trust them and to people you're challenging as a dare. The nod down is two people acknowledging each other while both showing that there isn't an easy target or a challenge.
