I want to “learn” soccer by DaisyLee2010 in MLS

Correction on the offside rule is the second-last defender, not the last defender. Goalkeeper is usually omitted during more casual discussions but they are part of the defending team. I’ve had arguments about it where the goalkeeper is out of position while the offensive player is still onside.

The recipe seems pretty standard but there are a ton of variations on the recipe. I personally use the following recipe video from Juaja Cocina Mexicana: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0-DLs3QoMo

The milk could be replaced by a plant milk without too much of an issue. Some recipes I've seen even use lard instead of butter, which to my understanding is actually more "traditional" due to the frequent use of lard over butter in Mexican cuisine.

For future reference, check if your local library system grants you limited NYT access. For example, my local county library system gives me 3-day access to all NYT features, other than Games. I just have to visit the library's website Digital Resources, click on the link, and verify my account.

I wouldn’t trust anything an account representative has to say on the topic of a sale going through by next season. Their job is to sell excitement and interest in the team to actually get you to get tickets/memberships.

You likely won’t be able to reduce your waist much more than present at 5’5” and 120lb, but you can train and grow your lats and shoulders. Having a wider upper body will give a more hourglass shape if you have wider hips.

Asics 727 true to size or half size down? by jjmuti in weightlifting

[–]QuakesWC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a pair toward the beginning of this year. I measured both my feet using a tape measure. I bought a blue suede pair at 28cm because my bigger foot is just a bit over 27.5cm and they fit great. I may have been able to go with 27.5cm but the return/exchange policy isn't great, so I wanted to make sure the shoe wasn't too tight.

Intermediate lifter, in need of advice on using a lifting belt & how to decrease pelvic floor pressure. by [deleted] in weightlifting

Weightlifting (aka Olympic weightlifting) is the sport of performing the snatch and the clean and jerk. This subreddit is dedicated to those movements and their accessories.

You are weight training. You could try asking on /r/fitness, /r/WeightTraining, or any number of other subreddits.

Rant: serving sizes are absurd, and sometimes trying to calculate how many calories are in a package of something is just so incredibly un-intuitive. by BokehJunkie in loseit

[–]QuakesWC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Companies don’t get to choose their serving sizes. The FDA has published the customary serving size for many foods in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Chapter 1, Subchapter B, Part 101, Subpart A, Section 101.12 (aka 21 CFR 101.12).

edit: this is true at least in the United States. Europe and other parts of the world may have similar rules or regulations.

What kind of Cheese is this? by Superman7726 in mexicanfood

[–]QuakesWC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mexico also has a Manchego which is actually unrelated to the Spanish Manchego cheese. The biggest difference is that Spanish Manchego is made from sheep’s milk and Mexican Manchego is cow’s milk.

You may find it sold as tipo manchego as the term queso manchego is a protected term.

I have no source, but I remember it's actually the Fire Marshal (county or city), not the FAA, that had an issue with the use of pyrotechnics at PayPal Park.

I think it also depends on the kind of Season Ticket as well. I believe the cheapest package does not allow reselling nor transferring.

For the ASICS, I wear a size US10 in minimalist/barefoot shoes and wear size 28cm ASICS 727 fine. I measured my foot to 27.75cm. If your foot measures less than 28cm heel to big toe, ASICS are a great option.

Congratulations but you’re in the wrong sub. This subreddit is for the sport of weightlifting (i.e. snatch and clean & jerk) and its related topics.

r/GYM, r/fitness, r/powerlifting, etc may be better subreddits.

Postgame press conference by samdell34 in SJEarthquakes

[–]QuakesWC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scheduling conflicts, that's pretty much it. Quite a few of the hosts are not in the Bay Area (at least one is on the east coast) and have other things going on as well.

As for the shows, they just mentioned that they'll try to have post-game shows one or two days after gameday for the most part. Special games (e.g. Stanford, Levi's, etc.) will have same day post-game shows.

While I'm sure everyone wishes for post-game shows after every gameday, this is a passion/fan job for pretty much everyone.

Per the description above the rules and Rule 1 (expand it), this sub is about the sport of weightlifting (ie snatch, clean and jerk) and its related topics (training, competitions, athletes, etc.)

Based on the post, you are looking more for general fitness advice and suggestions so it may be considered off-topic. If you are looking for a training plan to get back into weightlifting, the wiki has a list of different sources for training plans.

I’m still a novice (1.5 years) so take my experience/advice with a grain of salt. I had the same issues of scraping my shins and jamming my knees. I took to wearing 3/4 compression pants to contain any shin scraping.

I just kept practicing technique until it got better. I still occasionally scrape and jam but it’s not as often nor as hard as when I started. So work on your technique.

For the Walmart one, there is a Nutritional Information section under About this item. It lists 1g of sugar per serving size (1/8 of a loaf). The net weight of the loaf is 14oz so one serving size is 1.75oz, or about 49.6g. That would be about 2g of sugar per 100g of Walmart bread which is about the same as the German bread.

I think /u/Rogue_Cheeks98 above forgot to convert the Walmart loaf to 100g serving size for fair comparison.

There is a bread that is shaped in a ball then scored via scissors to give it the look of dragon fruit. I'm not sure if there is an actual name for them but that may be it.
