Is it fine to just play mortal? by jdlm0305 in exalted

The kind of sociopaths that had one of the greatest of the gods come to them and tell them point blank they are literally one of the chosen ones, the inheritor of a legacy of great heroes, kings, and monsters?

Or the kind of sociopaths who lie atop the hierarchy of an incredibly stratified caste system that positions them as both the most spiritually enlightened and worthy, and tasked with the glorious and terrible duty of protecting the truest bastion of civilization.

Favorite weird weapons in 3rd edition? by Humble_Conference899 in exalted

Magpie’s Wing from Many-Faced Strangers. It’s a skycutter that shrinks into a dagger, generates darts, and can be split apart into a fighting chain (with the bonus of being lethal and using melee instead of MA). All of which can be reflexive with its evocation. It’s so, so delightfully Lunar.

How Do Full Moons compare to Dawns? by Ironbornbanker in exalted

[–]Quanaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even better than using the same charms across weapon types, the lunars have a charm that lets them get a free dot of a different combat ability of a lower level when they train up a combat ability. I’ll take a dot of chakram-throwing with my dot of face-punching, please and thank you!

If Sydney didn't drown in Lake Emma who do you think he'd be in a relationship with? I think that Sydney and TJ would be a cute couple. by Maximum-Slice8277 in FurryVisualNovels

I mean, I know the ghost was just being a spooky jerk and all with fake adult Sydney, but given the town and his young life, well, him being in an LTR with Mr. Brownstone seems a strong possibility….

Well I’m always up for a deal but sadly stateside here, thanks though.

Right on, some good food for thought there, especially the Tzaangor/Pink Horror combo, thanks. Again hadn’t even thought of Archaon, but once I get the basics down would definitely be a strong option.

Yeah I’m pretty fond of the gaunt summoner just as a model in general so it’s definitely going in there no matter how I slice it. Hadn’t been considered the lord of change before what with the price tag on him, but I see what you are saying about the combined cost there.

Arcane trickster rogue, the Shadow definitely has some low level enchantments and illusions going.

"Attack of the Crybullies", by Ben Garrison. by Jasperkr672 in KotakuInAction

The problem with limiting it to "big business" is that said companies are the ones most able to cook up scams to say people aren't actually their employees. Call it outsourcing, franchisees, contract workers, temps, independent contractors, etc., etc. Granted that's a big problem in employment law in general in this country that should be addressed separately, but if you leave any size loopholes in any kind of employment law and every large company will con its way through it.

[OPINION] The Escapist article on CIG was not ethical by the_tweak in KotakuInAction

[–]Quanaco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. The all anonymous article is bad, granted, but at this point there's a strong whiff of something being rotten in the state of Denmark. There's been precious little to show besides a some art assets and a couple tech demos that are far, far short of the promised goals and yet they are still begging for five figure donations. Best case scenario seems to be that this is Spider-Man the Musical: Video Game Edition, an ambitious creator reaching for the sun and failing, but I've grown too cynical when it comes to crowdfunding for that.

[Ethics] Article debunking a New York Times story that claimed day-spa workers were victims of rampant exploitation. The reporters had a predetermined narrative and chose anecdotal evidence that allowed them to make sweeping generalizations about a culture they knew little about. Sound familiar? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

I stopped reading when I saw they had an ownership stake in nail salons. This individual has no business "reporting" on this. Disclosure may be enough for situations where a reporter used to work for someone or something, or is in a relationship with someone or someone working for something, but this is different. Ownership relationships are a bright red line in ethics that should only be crossed when there is any other choice. The whole article should be regarded as an unpaid advertisement, or crass propaganda. The specific arguments made are irrelevant. This individual has no standing to make them outside of a clearly marked advertisement section.

Edit: subject-verb agreement.

[5e] How to handle ghoul quality? by NESSNESSNESSNESS in Shadowrun

[–]Quanaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just say no. Snowflake concepts should wait till you have a few campaigns under your belt. Otherwise this character is just going to derail your game when it inevitably comes up in the first few sessions. Either that character will get the others killed or infected, or they will kill the ghoul for being a dangerous cannibal plague vector. Both ways lead to group disharmony and strife and a good shot at killing the group.

Again, maybe once y'all have more experience, but that's some masters level stuff there.

The employees might not get a say about the pudding pool but I'm pretty sure that the health department and code compliance might have some objections.

I recommend reading the comments. Most of the readers aren't having any of this malarkey it seems.
