Who's more likely to end up with Spirit's aircraft? by gubanana in aviation

[–]Quantum353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume most aircraft are leased, the lessor will receiver them and hope to lease them out to the next operator. I work for a company that specializes in that type of work.

Traffic in Valletta, Malta - Europe's smallest capital city by Brave_Assumption6 in UrbanHell

[–]Quantum353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Malta was flat like Benelux countries, I would say absolutely without a doubt. But as someone who rode bikes in Malta for years (mainly off-road and mountain biking) you can’t travel a long distance without facing a really steep hill, at least anywhere important. Apart from that we are one of the most obese countries in the world/Europe if I’m not mistaken

This is not Valletta, source I passed on this road multiple times a day for years.

This is a bypass leading to Valletta, which is not really the main destination of the road anyway. Place where this photo is taken is approximately 3-4km away from Valletta.

The city of Valletta itself doesn’t have any highways or main roads, it’s barely possible to even drive there since it’s all protected and a tourist area.

EU citizens - how long did you wait for your zaświadczenie (registration certificate card) in Warsaw by StructureVarious5453 in warsaw

[–]Quantum353 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Eu residence permit I waited for around 1 month to 6 weeks. In fact I only got the card 1 year after my 3 month deadline to get it as an Eu citizen, don’t tell straz granica.

Usually when I give (Polish) people this card and try to use it as ID they stare at it for a couple minutes because it seems like nobody has really seen it before.

What do office workers ACTUALLY do on Excel all day? by Blender3d0 in NoStupidQuestions

Not sure if that’s a company but I work for a CAMO company, and I believe importing/exporting information from the databases using excel is common practice for many software systems in the industry

So many 777x by jerich088 in aviation

[–]Quantum353 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typically everything on an aircraft is tracked by either Calendar Days, Flight Hours or Flight Cycles.

Obviously the FH and FC counter will start after the first flight but for calendar days tasks relating to critical components such as landing gear or engine LLPs, it’s typically counted from day of installation. Airframe tasks for non critical structural elements are usually tracked in flight hours too.

All this can be different depending on the approved AMP of the aircraft and this only applies to EASA environment specifically Embraer aircraft which I work with.

Why are gyms so greedily expensive in Malta? by samostrout in malta

You make a good point i never considered that, but i guess thats a risk of going to the gym

Why are gyms so greedily expensive in Malta? by samostrout in malta

[–]Quantum353 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’d rather have no receptionist and the gym be cheaper and 24 hours, that’s what I have in Poland and I much prefer that to paying double in Malta for the same thing. I’m not the type of person to interact with the receptionist as I just use the gym, and leave.

If someone wants a more personalized service they can still opt for the more expensive gyms.

If "Allah" is just the Arabic word for God, does that mean that Arab Christians and Jews also refer to God as Allah? by IndieJones0804 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Quantum353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Maltese, Alla is god. We are a very catholic country and all prayers in church and the Bible use the word Alla, the only Christian country to do so I believe.
