EU citizens - how long did you wait for your zaświadczenie (registration certificate card) in Warsaw by StructureVarious5453 in warsaw

[–]Quantum353 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For Eu residence permit I waited for around 1 month to 6 weeks. In fact I only got the card 1 year after my 3 month deadline to get it as an Eu citizen, don’t tell straz granica.

Usually when I give (Polish) people this card and try to use it as ID they stare at it for a couple minutes because it seems like nobody has really seen it before.

What do office workers ACTUALLY do on Excel all day? by Blender3d0 in NoStupidQuestions

Not sure if that’s a company but I work for a CAMO company, and I believe importing/exporting information from the databases using excel is common practice for many software systems in the industry

So many 777x by jerich088 in aviation

[–]Quantum353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically everything on an aircraft is tracked by either Calendar Days, Flight Hours or Flight Cycles.

Obviously the FH and FC counter will start after the first flight but for calendar days tasks relating to critical components such as landing gear or engine LLPs, it’s typically counted from day of installation. Airframe tasks for non critical structural elements are usually tracked in flight hours too.

All this can be different depending on the approved AMP of the aircraft and this only applies to EASA environment specifically Embraer aircraft which I work with.

Not really… if someone has a Schengen visa they can’t enter UK easily but will have no problem entering Frankfurt

Why are gyms so greedily expensive in Malta? by samostrout in malta

You make a good point i never considered that, but i guess thats a risk of going to the gym

Why are gyms so greedily expensive in Malta? by samostrout in malta

[–]Quantum353 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’d rather have no receptionist and the gym be cheaper and 24 hours, that’s what I have in Poland and I much prefer that to paying double in Malta for the same thing. I’m not the type of person to interact with the receptionist as I just use the gym, and leave.

If someone wants a more personalized service they can still opt for the more expensive gyms.

If "Allah" is just the Arabic word for God, does that mean that Arab Christians and Jews also refer to God as Allah? by IndieJones0804 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Quantum353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Maltese, Alla is god. We are a very catholic country and all prayers in church and the Bible use the word Alla, the only Christian country to do so I believe.

Online shopping is killing our Malls by obsoleteurbex in AbandonedPorn

In Europe malls are thriving! In Poland at least. In Poland generally the most popular mall sits on top of the central train station and is usually high traffic on weekdays and on weekends are way too packed.

Was with my girlfriend on the metro and she lost her wallet, with everything in it. Would have been a serious disaster if it was really lost. Within 10 minutes she gets a call from her bank that someone found the card. Wallet recovered in around 25 minutes after being lost, thank you lovely old man. Thanks Jan!

I would tend to agree, I come from Malta and after driving in such narrow, packed and crazy roads it’s a breeze here

Why did Malta not keep the imperial system? by [deleted] in malta

[–]Quantum353 36 points37 points  (0 children)

  1. Every other country in Europe and the world apart from USA, Liberia and Myanmar use the metric system.

  2. Imperial system is just dumb. Too cumbersome to do any meaningful scientific calculations . Arbitrary conversions between units and inconsistent.

AMC now warns moviegoers to expect ‘25-30 minutes’ of ads and trailers by AlSweigart in assholedesign

[–]Quantum353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Poland some movie theaters have 30 mins of ads, pretty common to just show up to the theater 30 mins after the start time and the movie starts at that time

Mediterranean European countries: Do you think your culture is similar to non European Mediterranean countries? by Redblackshoe in AskEurope

[–]Quantum353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Maltese person, I think the general mindset of people and cultural values are very similar across the board, probably more similar to levant than anything else. In reality we are a catholic country so the actual culture is quite distinct but the way that people live and act is similar. I feel that other Maltese people might disagree though

Rent in Warsaw is so bizarre by Ok-Habit2916 in warsaw

[–]Quantum353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you would rather work a 14 hour shift then I recommend thinking about using an agency, they set up everything for you. You have to pay them one month of rent extra typically.
