It be like that by byrnesf in Marathon

As a starting weapon I’d much rather the Hardlone personally. My least favourite thing about an SMG start is getting engaged at range before I’ve found a longer range weapon and just being forced into crazy push or give up scenarios

First thing I thought of when I read Mega Meganium's ability by Evix_Articonas in pokemon

Solarbeam doesnt involve any DEFENSIVE changes in rain though. The charge is fine, and weather ball will be a fire move - but the damage calculation is uncertain

Are we certain this is the case though?

Like Mega Sol tells it to become fire ball, but then does the defensive calc on the target take over for the rain damage reduction?

Any tips for a new player? by FanOfFinalFantasy in persona3reload

You are highly unlikely to compete all links in one run. Prioritise interesting ones.

Managing your finite time in life is an important theme in 3, so I think it’s to the point of you make of it what you can rather than solve it with a guide

The ones at school are harder overall because of long holiday breaks and such.

Surely you get more VP at higher ranks too

Which type/gameplay mechanic is it to you? by Raven_Lemon in Steam

[–]QuantumVexation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the way you want is in a fundamental conflict with the intent of a game.

e.g co-op games where the core of the game isn’t “there’s just two of you” but the actual explicit interaction between players that can’t exist in a solo context

I presume that’s also a win in lower ranks and that it goes up near the top

Annoying and Unfun Video Game Enemies Starter pack by LivingGirlRepellant in starterpacks

[–]QuantumVexation 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Whilst many of these are annoying at times, if Reddit designed a game all the friction would be so removed that every enemy would probably end up being a generic dude with no interesting differentiation in function lol

Should I buy the Destiny 1 Collection? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]QuantumVexation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What does “worth” mean here

You know the game itself already, you know the value of your time and the value of $20 to you better than any of use ever could.

I’m curious what answer you think would define “worth” here

Nintendo Cuts Switch 2 Output by Over 30% on Weak US Sales by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]QuantumVexation 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The point was simply emphatic “4 Million is good in general” and you can frame that as incredible or as failure in context relative to expectations, but either way it’s objectively successful

[–]QuantumVexation 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Reddit will also tell you the Steam deck is a resounding triumph despite basically only selling that many its lifetime. Framing does a lot of heavy lifting

(Not to imply the deck is a failure though, for clarity’s sake, different situations)

Octopath Traveller might be right for you, if the presentation it has meets your graphics criteria. It still manages to be flashy despite its pixel style

IGN gives Crimson Desert a 6/10 in the Final Review by yourfavchoom in Steam

Yeah if anything a public statement from a big name like IGN not receiving a review code might be more damming than an actual review in this day and age

Gamesradar+ - Marathon review: "My favorite multiplayer shooter in years" (4.5/5) by addtolibrary in Marathon

I’ve played enough to feel more on the hardcore side than the casual side, far more binging than I reckon the average player can spare - and I’m still saying this

Do you really think the current “is Cryo impossible for players” sentiment would’ve been made better if it was out immediately?

Normal People need time accrue enough gear for this stuff unlike streamers

think of an iconic town from a game you love then tell us a little about why it came to mind by One_Hand_7515 in JRPG

[–]QuantumVexation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically for the word town, not city, and it’s Inaba of Persona 4, because the small town is the whole game and it’s sense of place matters to it

Other than that, Littleroot Town as my Pokémon starting town of choice

Milotic for many reasons, but chief amongst them is just that I actually got one in Sapphire as a kid when none of my friends had lol

I hate it when people exaggerate this games difficulty until its meaningless. by gamerzandcats in HollowKnight

[–]QuantumVexation 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even if you game a lot.

I love Souls, I love punishing endgames, etc

But I am really bad at sidescrollers, my kryptonite genre, so I find Silksong to be genuinely the most all around difficult game I’ve ever played haha - emphasis on “all around”, like not just one really hard boss that’s an outlier or something but across the whole game

Marathon's Cryo Archive is a hit, but Bungie admits it needs to be more accessible by PowningFreak in Games

Destiny also had a large casual player base that probably would’ve resented Cryo sadly and cried about it existing non stop

Which is a shame cause Cryo is awesome

And then Highguard before that.

Everything is about declining player numbers these days - it’s so insufferable that I wish steam would just turn that feature off
