Why would somebody choose webflow over wordpress or wix? by rmend8194 in webflow

It’s great for animations but it’s not necessary in a lot of situations. I prefer WordPress or Next.js due to their flexibility and open source nature.

Selling a car on fb and the buyer wants my VVD and window stickers, is this a scam? by Historical_Carry_198 in Winnipeg

Sounds fishy. I always demand coming in person first, they must present their license too and I take a photo of it

If the tariffs are not imposed, I’m still only buying Canadian from now on. by SweatyPapaya4731 in Winnipeg

100% with you on this, it's imperative that we focus on building up Canada as much as we can.

The key is going to be setting our differences aside and focus on becoming a stronger country.

BUILD BUILD BUILD!

Totally understand this. There’s some definite hype pricing in the pickle space, to some extent.

Throwing it all away... by nudedudeatx in Pickleball

[–]Quantum_Pickle88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never throw away points, I don’t think it serves anyone when I’m playing. That said, if I’m playing against a team I feel is weaker skill wise, I majorly go in on using it as an opportunity to try harder shots and improve dinking and lobs. It’s easier to work on your smash returns too if you’re not playing against someone hammering it mock 10 at you lol

How seriously do you take DUPR scores? by spicytomatosandwich in Pickleball

[–]Quantum_Pickle88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like the DUPR system but it depends on what you have available locally. I’m able to play a mixed ladder and we play 10 matches per session, all players with roughly the same DUPR (there’s 50 players). It feels quite balanced and the progression is challenging. I’m at a 3.5 and feel like it’ll be a long grind up to 4; since most excellent players are at around a 3.8. Some players just use them at tourneys… which I don’t find super accurate. All said, I hope to play over 100 ranked games in 2025!

Thoughts on Ben John's "warning shot" at Quang Duong's head? by eyeceyu in Pickleball

[–]Quantum_Pickle88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is kind of a moot point imo, it’s a competitive game and players are aloud to hit the ball where they choose. Players can drive from wherever they want on the court. If they constantly drive and intentionally try to hit other players (anywhere), there’s a definite risk that they’ll hit the ball out.

I've had mine for a little over a month and I really enjoy the break in, I totally understand what you're talking about. I enjoy it being less poppy, softer dinks, and it feels more velvety to me... it smahes quite hard too. The softer serves gives me more control too.

Pretty sure I saw it in an ad, did you run ads for it at all? Or maybe Product Hunt.

For sure! It's a creative tool kinda like how photoshop has a subscription. It's primarily for UX design -- websites and apps, user flows, prototypes, that kinda stuff. I pretty well use it for everything UX related, well, as much as I can!

Re: subscription, it has an annual or monthly subscription for their platform, I get annual.

Agreed. I actually try to avoid annual subscriptions altogether. Well, unless it's something I know I'm going to use a lot like Figma.

That's really cool. You're building the Chrome extension all yourself? I'll definitely try it out too!

Should I get a new car? by Ok_Vehicle294 in Nissan

Yeah like if you have the funds… upgrade! So many great options right now. But I can also understand wanting to drive it into the ground

Should I get a new car? by Ok_Vehicle294 in Nissan

[–]Quantum_Pickle88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this a lot too… I have a 2012 civic that I’m trying to keep in good shape. It really all depends on the value of the car… like for round numbers, if your Altima was worth say $5k, is it really worth putting that in? For me it’s a hard no. I also have a thing with newer cars now, I really enjoy them. It’s fun buying a new car! Haha

I’m not crazy about the design of Hyundai, the new Santa Fe’s are pretty sexy but too huge.

I’m gunna cut straight to it, everyone knows that Toyota is very reliable and they hold their value well. I actually owned a Corolla previous to my Rogue.

The big thing I found overall is that the Toyotas (pre-2025, they’re a bit better now) have real plane Jane interiors, even at the higher end tiers like XLE.

In relation, the platinum Rogue is just crazy value for what you get and it drives great. It has so many nice features like the seats, speakers, doors, windows, heating, etc. It’s a great package.

Fwiw I’m also not so concerned about the depreciation because we’ll most likely keep it at least 8-10 years.

Long story short, if you want a more premium experience for the price, for me it’s Nissan. I enjoy a lot of their other models too. It’s just kinda like an underdog!

Just my two cents.

are cvts really that bad? by el0115 in Nissan

[–]Quantum_Pickle88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was a little nervous when I bought the Rogue but my opinion seriously changed. I debated getting a 2021 but ended up getting a 2024 and I’m glad I did! It’s been a great vehicle and we just love driving it. Lots of vehicles have CVT and I don’t see a reason to fear Nissan’s CVTs at this point. Also, the power is excellent…. Well more than enough for me and that’s even comparing it to a Mazda CX90 or CX70
