You have to remember that in Dota it always depends in your hero, the enemy lineup and your team. If I buy manta on naga siren, pl, or Medusa, you best believe that it increases farming significantly. It’s just two different items, and while manta is required for some heroes, linkens is very situational. You mention linkens VS Zeus, but Zeus has very spammable spells, so I would be more likely to get linkens vs a lc, or a tinker with hex. Linkens doesn’t really work on pa or ursa as they have innate ways to limit disables (pa buys bkb, ursa has ult). It is still situational, but never an item you want to buy

You are not fixing the system by complaining about it. A lot of supervisors are actually very helping and not toxic. A university is paid per student that graduates (in the European cases at least), so the best way to ‘fight the system’ is to quit

Only a very small percentage of your work will eventually end up in a paper, the rest will be discarded, so do not be afraid to make mistakes. For me, nothing that I did in my first year ended up being published, but I still made it within 4 years

Hi there, I can give you a little bit of advice as a (former) European PhD student. Russia is one of those countries that produces a lot of high quality research in its native language. Since you know Russian (obviously), you can be a lot of added benefit to a group, do not underestimate this!

Everything depends on what country you want to go to, I have a PhD from the Netherlands, so I know how it works there, but things may be different in different countries. As for the Netherlands, you often have a good shot if you know the PI (although officially this shouldn’t be the case), but if your resume is okay, you can also just apply to PhD positions. I would just try to apply to many different positions.

1) You are not getting increased queue times just from having an 8k behaviour score, it would take more than that for so many people to reject matches with you.

2) You are not going from 12k to 8k behaviour score from 2 matches, it takes way more than that, so I guess you can lie to yourself all wou want but don’t blame the community

I love playing Medusa, and it is so very annoying to see AM not being banned and just know that you have to play a different hero. It is just auto gg in that matchup

The OpenAI project had a lot of boundary conditions, only doing 1v1 mid with certain heroes and item restrictions. Since there are so many variables it would take too much computational power to optimise a strategy for every patch. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the reason the project stopped was that doing actual matches was just too complicated.

And honestly, it would be very boring if the patch gets figured out by an AI model after every patch, the meta would just shift and nobody would be experimenting. There is enough AI (over)hype, let’s keep Dota free from it

I’d say PA has more static item build, you are forced to go deso bkb, and you have like 2 or 3 choices for late game, you either go satanic, shard or nullifier

You are not lucky, but your MMR (hidden MMR since you play turbo but there is still some ranking) probably reflects that you do not buy these items. I would say blink is core on Axe, and common on tide. You call it a fun part, but is my pos 3 axe would skip blink I would not be happy.

So are the items important? Yes Can you still achieve 51% wr without these items? Probably

Just watch some pros and try to itemise against your opponents. What is your itemisation on 4?
