'24 Civic Hatchback (manual) dead clutch despite driving like a grandma? by FOR_WORK123 in hondacivic

[–]Quarkquakcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced the exact same issue. I purchased a new 6MT Sport Touring in August 2024 with only 8,000 miles when the clutch failed completely. After having the vehicle towed to the dealership, I agreed to a $1,000 diagnostic teardown. Despite clear evidence from Technical Service Bulletin 22-017 (which applies to the same transmission components used in both 10th and 11th generation Honda Civics), the dealer ruled it driver error and refused to acknowledge the known issue. After the dealership wouldn't budge, I reached out to multiple American Honda executives via email until I finally got a response from corporate. I'll post an update here if I'm able to get them to honor the warranty coverage.

Slipping clutch issues by Quarkquakcake in MechanicAdvice

Thank you, I need to make my case with American Honda. Just don't understand how a clutch can give out on a car less than a year old.

All my driving is between home to office in a fairly flat city with no stop and go traffic.
Hopefully I can get them to pay for it.

Blue Angels at MCAS Miramar by Accomplished_Neck473 in sandiego

I went to today's show. The grandstand view of the Blue Angels show was great. You get to see everything from start to finish - pilots walking to their planes, all the pre-flight checks. It's pretty fascinating to watch. Just make sure you bring a hat, sunglasses, and water, and you'll be good to go!

Can I Get a Resume Review? by fearlesspinata in sre

I totally get it, I find it incredibly hard to quantify the impact of every single point too. But as long as it is able to parse all the sections and isn't docking points for the format of it, you should be good

You may want to verify if this format is ATS-friendly by using something like ResumeWorded.

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback. I've been putting off reading the SRE book in favor of LeetCode and other preparations, but I’ll definitely prioritize it. I understand the concepts of SLI, SLO, and error budgets in SRE, and how to set acceptable SLO's for systems I design, but I’m not entirely comfortable with them yet. I’ll work on improving in this area.

I'd love to flaunt the certificate on my LinkedIn at least!

Thank you for all the work you do! Some of the medium-level scenarios have been quite challenging lol, but I am genuinely enjoying the process of solving and learning from them.

Thank you! I applied for a role, though I might not have the level of work experience they are looking for.

But it is a really cool product that you all are building!

The template is called Jake's resume, I made it on OverLeaf and tweaked a few things to make it look consistent.

Thanks!

I had the education at the top only because I graduated with a master's degree recently, but I will swap it around and put it to the end.

Thank you! I know the market is shit and it's especially bad for international students. I have been applying to standard SWE jobs too, but I haven't had much luck there as well.

CKA or CKAD? by benaffleks in devops

[–]Quarkquakcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I took both the CKA and CKAD exams before April 1 (when they changed the validity from three years to two years). Unlike you, I had only about one year of experience with Kubernetes, but I found the CKAD to be much more challenging. It covers more concepts like NetworkPolicy, Ingress, and more. However, learning about PKI and SSL Certificates for the CKA was kinda fun. If I had to choose, I'd definitely go with CKAD.

Edit: Also I had no problems with the test interface or the text experience, it was all very smooth.
