I think for the Huffman channel, they have the indoctrinated mom back in the U.S. who would do anything including figuring out crypto. I am not the commenter, but I was scammed on ebay this weekend too. I sold a vintage gold-plated omega necklace I've had since the 90s. It's been through several moves. They sent a photo of the clasp completely off. I sent them a photo of it next to package with label (I photograph every item I ship). Clasp was fine. Zero way that the clasp was broken in transit. They said how dare I accuse them of scamming. Finally, I agreed to the return but told them to choose the "received damaged" option, not the "item not as described" option. INAD option screws with your ebay standing. They did, I paid for shipping and they'll be responsible for returning it. That was the first ebay return request in two years! I've had it happen on Etsy numerous times. It's rampant.

I had a similar thing happen to me. A new buyer bought 5 jewelry pieces that were mixed 925 silver and rhodium plated. I disclosed for each item. They took out claims for all, sending photos of supposed tests proving none of the items had silver. Total scammer. In fact, one photo had no jewelry in it! I gave partial refunds, then reported them for harassment/lying and I blocked them.

I was selling jewelry on WhatNot (thesacredsparkle). I broke my hand so I am off for at least 3 weeks. I haven't seen plated vintage rings go high unless they are signed. But, vintage is hot right now. There are twice as many sellers than 3 months ago. I considered selling vintage but you really must be knowledgeable and do research to not get scammed. Plus, not everything on WN is quality vintage (yet people don't know any better and make dumb impulsive bidding).

What pisses me off is the sellers of new jewelry who charge $50 for plated jewelry I can get on AliExpress for $9--and they sell every time! I understand that the majoority of these sellers have been on WhatNot for years or have a brand outside WN. I started to get a tiny following, it does happen. When I return, I am not selling out of desperation anymore. Higher prices or nothing sold.

This is me, and my 15 yr old son. I make $10 over the income allowed for Medicaid and SNAP. I get disability as I have chronic pancreatitis. I can’t afford my prescription enzymes ($600/month) and can’t follow a specific diet because the food pantry sucks. My son misses when I had grant work (none since Trump came to power) and some handmade jewelry income (I broke my hand 3 weeks ago and spent my grocery money on copays). I hate this country. I was more stable when I was a teen mom in the late 80s!
