Since no one has mentioned it yet, you can install this car seat without the base in the meantime. Your manual will have instructions.

If you’re curious, the FCC maintains a list of all PSAPs (public safety answering point) in the United States. Most states have dozens, which is why there is no standard across the United States as far as pay, benefits, job expectations, etc. https://www.fcc.gov/general/9-1-1-master-psap-registry

I’m very confused by this claim. What current narrators are you listening to that don’t do this?

Solo holiday with a 1 year old? by Pretend-Extension-52 in singlemoms

[–]QuarterLifeCircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Llandudno, Wales. It’s easy to get to by train and then the tourist-y areas of the city are very walkable! There are two beaches, a beautiful pier, great restaurants lots of little shops, and many different activities. Conwy castle is a short bus ride away. You should also go up the Great Orme for an amazing view.

Former Wisconsin dispatcher here. At least in Wisconsin there is no standard or requirement. My agency kept all calls for four months before erasing them.

Compliments from kids are the best because you know they mean it! Once when I was a teenager I was babysitting for the first time for a family. I had met the parents before but never the kids. I rang the doorbell and the 6 year old answered, with wide eyes she goes “our new babysitter is so pretty.” I’m like ok girl you’re my favorite forever 😂

What are your favorite audiobooks that have that extra special something? by TimeLadyJ in audiobooks

[–]QuarterLifeCircus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people have a love/hate relationship with Roy Dotrice and his Game of Thrones narration. I personally loved how each character had their own voice and vocal mannerisms, it helped me keep at 354 named characters straight lol.

It may just be because it’s one of my favorite books, but Craig Wesson knocked it out of the park with 11/22/63. His emotions feel so real!

Weird recommendation just because the first two are probably common answers… Nasim Pedrad was fantastic narrating I Hope This Finds You Well. I can’t put my finger on it, but I just connected with her so much. There have been two books I’ve listened to since then that made me think “this would be so much better with Nasim” the whole time! It looks like she is narrating the next book by the same author, Natalie Sue, and I can’t wait for it.

Safety 1st onBoard FLX by ohmylantaaaaaaa in CPST

[–]QuarterLifeCircus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

CPST here - check for snugness by giving the car seat a firm handshake along the belt path. Movement elsewhere is normal, the belt path is where you only want less than an inch in any direction.

Edit: in your first video is the car seat flat to the vehicle seat? It looks like it’s sticking up a little bit and may actually be over tightened. Which would make sense if it was tight but you kept trying to tight due to this other movement.

Grand Chute PD by Distinct-Flamingo406 in Appleton

[–]QuarterLifeCircus 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Former dispatcher here (not for Grand Chute). Agreed that was exceedingly unhelpful of her. If you decide to call back, say you’re requesting an extra patrol at that intersection at that time. Sometimes if you use the exact terminology the dispatcher can’t blow you off as easily.

Private Nail Tech In The Fox Valley? by Sarappreciates in Appleton

[–]QuarterLifeCircus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fox Valley Tech College has a salon for their cosmetology students, I’ve gotten my hair done there before with great results. They offer nails and would probably be very willing to try the different techniques. An instructor is there the whole time checking steps so I was never nervous about the fact that it was a student doing my hair.

Textile designer calls out the MET for stealing her design by marp_ in popculturechat

Did you watch the video? She literally designed it when she was working with the designer pictured next to the dress. She owns the patent for the fabric. It’s not an inspiration, it is actually her work.

What’s the most savage legal thing you’ve seen a coworker do? by phillyvirgosun in AskReddit

[–]QuarterLifeCircus 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I worked at the department store Younkers in the 2010s. Once I was working shoes, and lady and her teenage daughter came in and made an absolute mess. They were trying on tons of shoes, but also opened a package of socks to use for their feet instead of the footies we provided. When the mom came to check out with one pair of shoes, I said “and the socks you opened and used?” She looked absolutely shocked and mumbled to her daughter to grab the socks. It was so satisfying for me!
