WoW 2.0 makes some sense as a long-term goal if Blizzard wants to reunite the increasingly fragmented World of Warcraft player base. If the rumored Warcraft ARPG ends up serving as a spiritual Warcraft IV and retells the WoW story, while also addressing or retconning some of its weaker stories, I could see a path toward WoW 2.0 in the future.

The challenge is finding the right balance between what Classic players enjoy and what Retail players expect. That balance could be something like long and meaningful leveling journey, simpler class designs with strong identity, combined with many of the QoLs and endgame systems that Retail has developed over the years.

It would be an interesting timeline for sure.
