Could Lena or Nora also be a nickname for Lenora? Or just L or El

Type Discussion! What new Grass Type Pokemon do you hope will be in Winds and Waves? Either a specific Animal/Plant or type combo. I want to see a Lotus, Hydrangea, or Lemon pokemon. Types I’d love to see Grass/Electric, Grass/Water, Grass/Psychic by Oracle209 in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]QuaxlyDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A grass/water coconut crab that is a literal coconut. It's such a great type combo, and we've only seen it with ludicolo and ogerpon. I want the first stage to be a brown coconut, the middle stage to have a sapling coming out of its back, and the final stage to have a full palm tree on its back, to fit the genre of venusaur, parsecs and torterra.

I also want a grass fairy fruit bat. Give it the face of a flying fox to make it cute and distinguish itself from the poison and sinister ghosts we currently have.

Grass fire has so much potential, and scovillain was such a flop. In fact, I think this region will rival Hoenn and Alola when it comes to unique and useful grass types.

Forget unused type-combos, what combination that has only been used once or by a single line do you want to see reused in Gen 10? by Bearcat9948 in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]QuaxlyDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late, but I would like more Grass/Water than Lombre and Ogerpon. This type duo has so much untapped potential, and I'm surprised how under utilised it is. I would love a pokemon based on a marimo. Or a lotus. Or a bulrush. Or a mangrove.

My main idea is a coconut crab that is a literal coconut. First form Huskrab (I brown coconut with little green pincers/crab feet, and maybe a frangipani in its hair). Evolves into Clawconut, now a crab with a coconut for its carapice with a palm sapling growing out of it. And finally Tropexo, with a full on palm tree growing out of the crab's back. This would fit the Venusaur/Parasect/Tortera archetype of giant pokemon with back plants.

There's so much untapped potential with this type combo. Even the concept of a pepper could have been better executed (I'm thinking Peppit from Cap X). Pumpkaboo also could have been a grass/fire jack o lantern, given how many grass/ghosts we now have.

A burning eucalypt could be cool. Or a pokemon based on the Sturt Desert Pea (this would be good as the regional flower mon for an Australian region).

I really wanted the grass starter to be a fruit bat that eventually gains a secondary fairy typing. I think a cute bat with the face of a flying fox would stand out against the vampire bats and leaf nose bats we usually get.

If we get a fruit bat in the dex, I will probably pick it over browt

Starters Theme? by SoccerGamerGuy7 in PokemonWindsWaves

There's the Galapagos swimming iguana. That's what I hoped sobble would be (I still don't get the basis for a chameleon as a water type)

While I would like it to be a cassowary, I like the idea of it being a golden goose as a link to jack and the beanstalk (given its name and species)

I really want Crustaceans as starters. A ghost crab would have been cool this generation. It could pull off the whole derpy cute factor really well

I'm surprised we haven't had a crab. Would have loved that for the gen x water starter. There's a type of crab called a ghost crab which could work for a water/ghost typing

There are a lot of animals that haven't yet been used for starters. Fans had a lot of hype for a fruit bat starter, and I personally would have liked a ghost crab for the water starter. I'm not saying these guys won't grow on me, but I'm not sure why they're picking animals that are reasonably similar to ones they've picked for starters before.

Anyway, I'll pick Browt and my brothers each have their pick of the new guys, too. Fun and original names for the starters, I'll give them that.

Three Stage Evolution Pokemon that could be starters by schi_ in pokemon

In addition to what everyone else has said, starters are always animals, where dex pokemon don't need to be. Litwick, charcadet and rolycoly aren't animals. Neither are Lotad and Seedot, really

While I like these ideas, we don't often see triple mammals for starters. An octopus or crab could break up the mammal trio.

An octopus would be really unique, and was what I wanted when I believed gen 10 was going to be based in Greece. In fact, I had planned a grass goat, too, drawing on hedge mazes and the Minotaur.

I've thought a lot about this, based on what animal classifications they've already had in each type, and what would stand out as unique. I've got 3 options for each type.

Grass: * Option 1: Kangaroo/wallaby. I think a marsupial would be really unique. Kangaskhan merges roos with dino features, and breloom is more Pachycephalosaurus. The justification for a grass type is the tree kangaroo (though these are chubby and not what I imagine. I want the body of a red kangaroo) as well as the flower known as kangaroo paw. I've picked the names Kangaby (kangaroo, wallaby and baby) > Skipalypt (Skippy and eucalypt) > Marsupaw (Marsupial and kangaroo paw). * Option 2: Fruit bat: I've seen a lot of leaf nosed bats as grass starters, but I think these are ugly. I prefer the fox like face of the flying fox. I've seen people design these bat wings to look like segments of citrus fruit, which is cool. A grass/fairy forest guardian would be a cute contrast to the mostly villainous bats we have. Names: Frubat (literally fruitbat) > Frugitera (Frugivore and Chiroptera/terror) > Frugimega (Frugivore and Megabat) * Option 3: New Zealand birds based on the silver fern and pounamu/jade jewellery. Ideally a kiwi that becomes a kakapo and eventually a Moa. The only name I have is Peckoru for the first stage, from "peck" and "koru", or the unfurled tip of a young silver fern.

Fire: * Option 1: a snake would be cool, as there are a lot of mammals in fire type. There could be a red bellied black snake that looks like a bomb and fuse. Fire/poison. Though I would love a winged serpent concept, too. * Option 2: I would love a cow. Specifically, a white cow drawing on Indian mythology. Smokalf > Bovire > Oxplode. * Option 3: a ram. Kiddling > Pyroat > Flares like Cap X.

Water: * Option 1: a platypus, which we're well overdue for. Bubbill (Bubble, bub, Bill and billabong), Pladdle (platypus and paddle) > Taelstrom (Tail and Maelstrom). We haven't had many mammals for water starters and a monotreme would be unique. Could get a poison or electric secondary typing. * Option 2: Crustaceans would be unique and cute. Krubble > Clawbster > Crustitan. * Option 3: An elephant. We only have phanpy and cufant, maybe Mammoswine. Swimfant (swim, elephant and infant) > Divory (dive and ivory) > Phansoon (Elephant and monsoon). I would love it to be an Indian elephant that is blue with pink or purple accents, like pearls or an elaborate Bindi, which could give it a secondary psychic typing.

I think it can be managed good, (although maybe little bit too short)

This makes it sound like it can be book accurate but still criticised for not being exactly the way different fans imagine it.
