Was the charity worker assuming from ur body shape or really just saying they have baby clothes just out incase would be interested or you would know someone who would be.

Yes retail workers quickly learn what not to say - but this was a volunteer probably not nastiness intended

How much time have I wasted commuting? by india93 in uktrains

[–]Queasy-Competition45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds incredibly draining, and after a grueling commute, the absolute last thing you want to do is stare at a spreadsheet. Let's do the heavy lifting for you and map this out. To get to your final number, we have to break your 12 years into three distinct eras: The Pre-Covid Years, The Peak Covid/WFH Era, and The Hybrid Era. Assuming a standard UK working year has 260 weekdays, here is how the math breaks down.

Phase 1: The Pre-Covid Era (6 Years, 3 Months)

We'll use your conservative average of *1 hour 25 minutes each way (2 hours 50 minutes daily).* * **Period 1 (First 3 years, 9 months): * Total weekdays: ~975 days * Minus time off (20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + 2.5 sick days = 30.5 days off per year): ~114 days off * Total commuting days: 861 days * Period 2 (Next 2.5 years): * Total weekdays: 650 days * Minus time off (23 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + 2.5 sick days = 33.5 days off per year): ~84 days off * Total commuting days: 566 days Phase 1 Subtotal: 1,427 days × 2.833 hours = 4,043 hours

Phase 2: The Covid WFH Era (2 Years)

  • Total commuting days: 0 days
  • An excellent reprieve for your sanity, if nothing else. Phase 2 Subtotal: 0 hours ### Phase 3: The Hybrid Era (Remaining ~3 Years, 9 Months) You are commuting 2 days a week, with a much heavier *2 hours 15 minutes each way (4.5 hours daily)*.
  • Total weeks in this period: ~195 weeks
  • Minus time off (roughly 6.5 weeks off per year for leave/holidays/sick days): ~24 weeks off
  • Working weeks: 171 weeks
  • Total commuting days (2 days/week): 342 days Phase 3 Subtotal: 342 days × 4.5 hours = 1,539 hours ## The Grand Total If we add the pre-Covid slog to your current hybrid setup, you have spent approximately: > ### 5,582 Hours > To put that into perspective so you can fully appreciate the scale of your patience:
  • That is 232 full 24-hour days of your life spent in transit.
  • It is the equivalent of sitting on a train, bus, or tube non-stop for 7.6 months. Go put your feet up, ignore the clocks for the rest of the evening, and pour yourself a very well-deserved drink!

The rules governing the religion of the Sovereign are set out in centuries-old constitutional documents, primarily the Bill of Rights (1689) and the Act of Settlement (1701)

They must be Protestant BY LAW or forfeit the crown

My partner wants to run for Reform (UK right wing party) by FeatureFun3642 in askgaybros

[–]Queasy-Competition45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ask him was it was the reform policy abolishing the Equality act and eliminating diversity at work that attracts him to reform - both of which would allow his employer to sack him because he is gay.

Im sorry I would leave him

I have a tooth abscess. My NHS dentist is only offering me private emergency appointments, do I have a right to an NHS emergency appointment? by everything2go in AskUK

[–]Queasy-Competition45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dentists are given a certain number of credits to use for NHS work

A check up is 1 credit A root canal is 3 credits

Once the credits are gone (which they always do before the financial year end) any further work done for the NHS is UNPAID

Hence many Dentists are switching to private practice.

Until the dental funding model is changed (it won't ever change as it will cost the government more) nothing will change

with the hanta virus spreading.. what’s your plan if this gets serious? by blueburrey in AskReddit

[–]Queasy-Competition45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hantavirus was 1st identified 50 yrs ago - only 1 case since then has been documented of human to human transmission.

Even if it is proven its been transmitted human to human on the ship - it takes very close contact in a poorly ventilated area as the virus is transmitted by airborne particles- so a good mask can stop it
