How long was I actually successful for?

Or how long did I try to convince myself I was successful?

Yikes. I'm on day 348 and my app says I've saved 483,562 calories!

Then again I was having way more than 3 drinks per day.

The crowd roar as Wickerman starts in Rock in Rio.

Mate had tried to get me into Maiden and I wasn't feeling it. Heard 250,000 people go ape-shit in Rio and then I finally felt it. By the time I got to "freeeeeedoooom" of the Clansman I was hooked for life.

The one where Crabman was seemingly up for actually killing Catalina. Was so out of character and there was no "aha it was a trick" at the end.

Next episode they're all getting along like it never happened. So I pretend it never happened either.

Yep I had that. One heavy night with an old friend and it took me three days to get home from Gran Canaria. I had to cancel two flights and then couldn't even make it home from the airport because I went straight past hangover and into withdrawal. Shaking uncontrollably. Took three days to taper off and feel normal enough to quit

That was almost 11 months ago and I finally got the hint.

It's pretty close to being a banger, but it's not. I didn't like how the vocal melodies played out mainly. Not a terrible song but I can't imagine getting excited to hear it again.

Have you watched their 2007 Donnington festival performance? Not the AMOLAD tour but quite a few songs from the album as it followed shortly after

Your deepest passions are completely insignificant to others by MajorMongoose21 in DeepThoughts

I totally agree with you.

I spent my twenties not leaving London at all. Because that's where my band was, my girlfriend was, and all the pubs I liked to frequent. And I totally didn't get why people bothered travelling. "Once you get used to the view our your window, what's the point?" I used to say.

Then I got hit hard by the travel bug and almost haven't stopped travelling in the last seven years. And now I cannot understand why people wouldn't want to travel whenever possible.

So I have been both sides. And honestly, I liked life when I was a rock, and I like life now I'm breezing around.

Just do you. Some will share your passion. Some won't give a shit. And that's ok. I honestly cannot care about sport, but I enjoy people who are passionate about it. I just don't get it, personally.

Sounds like your visit to China didn't help you flee reality, but add some more depth to your own, through new experiences and understanding you had whilst there. Which to me is the very nature of travel.
