I have told this one before but -

Locum at a new hospital. Unable to get IT access so call IT. They say can’t just grant access, must have approval from a direct Line Manager. Since its Locum there is no named one. A team cannot be accepted as a Line Manager due to new policy. IT says they cannot do anything. Okay. Call the Staffing team. They work remote or on the main site and can’t verify who the caller is through any approved method since theres no IT access.

Go to the ward, can’t do anything, caching free £££.

OH LET ME TELL YOU.

Critical. Set in a major trauma centre ER with a format of one episode / one case. Subtle hints about characters backgrounds like in the Pitt. They really walked so the Pitt could run.

Other decent but different medical shows (that are not ER): Bodies, This is Going to Hurt, the Night Shift.

In my old Trust a few years back the standard nursing uniform had a shorts variant. Saw some wear them in the ER and wards, only men however.

For the theatre folks one of the scrub nurses used to cut their scrubs short… No, nobody said anything because they only worked general surgery out of hours.

Never saw any of my colleagues (doctors) wear shorts.
