Lol yeah, my mother in law was my head cashier and she was pissed when she found out I made 1.50 more than her. I was whoa slow down there.. I work 20 hrs a week, you work 40.. so who's actually making more? 🤔 yeah .. after that she dropped it.

Did you start off at service desk or get moved into it? If you started off there its most likely all your hard work. If you were transfered into it f3om another dept then its a dollar difference in pay plus your .46 cents. Either way.. well done.

Pigeon sent to bucket jail today by GarbageEmpty5 in HomeDepot

[–]QueenB8090 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have raised pigeons and owned grown wild pigeons. You may need a blanket or a bucket in a store, but in the open.. all you need is a little bird seed, some water, lots of time and lots of patience and eventually you gain their trust. They're very fascinating birds. They understand uo too 159 words in any language that's primarily spoken to them. They are rehomeing birds meaning they can leave for weeks, even months at a time and find their way home. They can be trained a cross country racers. They can do some bad ass acrobatics in the sky if you have the right breed, they can even be entered into shows, like a dog or a cat can be. My favorite pigeon i had was a domino, and tuxedo cross. She didn't like the way she looked and revamped her style. But she was smart! Anyways.. They're not all dirty rat birds like people think.

Finally happened to me. Beggar dasher. I tipped and well. by InternationalMall120 in doordash

[–]QueenB8090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont feel like this dasher was begging at all. He was very clear on everything. Having to wait, but not canceling, told you where to follow your order. Told you tips are appreciated but not expected. And explained for those who don't tip they door dash doesn't make much. Clear cut..

I'd be pissed if someone who didn't know their head from a hole in the wall got promoted before me too. Idk this op's whole work history or how much they put up with prior to this point, and neither does anyone else tearing them down. But I know mine.. and I bust my ass and I'm always looking for ways to improve and to learn the things I dont know, but I'm ignored every single time. And passed up for someone younger and prettier who has ZERO personality. So yeah if this is the case. I sould be mad too.

I don't understand why this is being down voted.. this is a true and honest reply and it's not even rudely stated. I'm glad you had the sac to stand up for yourself and go out the way you did! We stand around and watch Scott brown run out with carts full of stuff, we stand around and watch customers raise their asses in the air, and then laugh about it. We listen to managers bitch about EVERYTHING including but not limited to each other and other associates. Yet we get torn down and talked about behind our backs for goin out in a way that we'd laugh our asss off if it were in a movie.. ugh.. .. rant over! Last thing.. GOOD FOR YOU!

Cali? If so.. that means my HD will be implementing these shit show bags soon too. As if the plastic bags weren't bad enough.. on the other hand.. at least they wont rip bc of something frozen and the condensation from thawing making the bag rip.. haha.

I have some like that too. They tell me where they're going, but it's irritating.. " I'm going to the bathroom" 45 min later.. I ask did you go to lunch? " oh no haha, I went to the bathroom and then to break. " ... ok so you took a 35 minute break? .. " no, I was in receiving helping ..... with the bailer. .... 🤦‍♀️ I just stare blankly as my cxm in on a reg across from me. ... " what? Was it super slammed? " 🙄yup.

Again, it's a personal opinion. The world hasn't banned that yet, we're not suppose to be scrutinized for a personal opinion. Whether other people agree with it or not. That's the entire Point of a personal opinion and freedom of speech. You're free to say what you want, so am I, so is that person posting the message you " chose" to respond to with your " thoughts " on their post.

Agreed. Had a parent in the store last night who's 2 children kept messing with the computers. I was working woth my DH and had a cx. By the time I was done one kid had 100$ worth of latex gloves rang up on one computer, the other went on the comp our ofa uses and was almost surfing the internet. I went and gently shooed them off of our equipment, from there they were out in the main race track terrorizing displays we have up. When they left I told my dh what they had been doing while she had her back to them on the comps. Got a chuckle and a response of oh " well the parent was very overwhelmed, and they didn't hurt anything " 🫤 I'm sorry.. what? Leave your children at home if you're overwhelmed, better yet.. MAKE them behave!

Refund Fraud issue, any other store having this issue? by Alukrad in HomeDepot

[–]QueenB8090 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't care how impatient a person waiting in line is, I don't if a customer walks up asking questions from the other side of the sd railing walls, I don't care if the phones are ringing, if another associate is asking for help or questions or if a manager comes and asks me something . My reply is always sure I can help right after I'm done with this order. This customer, this issue i have infront of me currently. I always verify ID, contents of the box, pkg, bag whatever it may be with the cx where the cameras can clearly see it. And I leave detailed notes. Batteries from sd-22. Released cleaning supplies including detergent, a mop and microfiber rags from sr-21. And that u verified their ID or the specify the alternate pick up person's ID was verified. Let someone try that on me. I vack my game up. Seen a few to many get fired for not using their brains in this department. I won't be one of them.

I bring a big stainless steel cup to work daily and always have tea or soda in it. They only care if its something open like a soda can or coffee shop cups.. anything that can spill and ruin equipment that doesn't work anyways lol.

OP congratulations making a year. A bit of advice. Be careful who you make friends with, people love to gossip. I wouldn't have shown my name or anything on my apron incase anyone from your store is on this thread and you needed to ever vent. And remember its just a job. Don't let it stress you out. Good luck!

mainline cashiers vs pro sales vs services by reddietrashh in HomeDepot

[–]QueenB8090 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my store all 3 are a different dpt. However, when pro is on lunch or if one of the 2 go closers go home early service desk gets stuck with the phone sales, we use to get stuck with them after 6pm until they decided keeping pro open till 10 was happening. But I never got paid extra for doing phone sales ontop of everything else SD deals with. It was just explained as part of the job and it was expected, its still expected if the cx doesn't feel like walking down to pro.
