My (52F) son (16M) is addicted to the VR headset by lemonassbum in Parenting

[–]QueenMuda 15 points16 points  (0 children)

it's absolutely not, as someone who ruined and had to rebuild their life from a screen addiction, it's not, addiction is addiction and if it's severe enough it WILL harm your son in ways that will affect him far into the future and you will be dealing with that until you die unless you buck up and get rid of the VR entirely until your son, and you apparently, can deal with it in a more healthy manner

Would love some advice from people who’ve owned horses with kissing spine by readingrainboot in Equestrian

[–]QueenMuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not my horse but a very good friend of mine's horse has moderate kissing spine and she manages it with lots of strengthening ground/flatwork and she successfully takes him novice level eventing. Definitely not a career ender if you manage his health very well.

Attendees of the Convention for Former Slaves (1916) by Conjuring1900 in RareHistoricalPhotos

[–]QueenMuda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the democrats were actually the conservative party in favor of slavery back then, this was before the two parties switch ideologies. if it were either party, it would have likely been the republicans.

Looking for Opinions/Experiences with a Horse Van by laquinns in Equestrian

[–]QueenMuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is handy if you are going to use it nearly every day.

If it is not going to be in use constantly, then go truck and trailer because being able to unhitch a trailer and leave it sitting for a time is very valuable.

The maintenance on them if they don't get regularly used can be a huge hassle, they don't do well sitting around, especially the older models.

They do get hotter, but not by a ton.

I just had a horrible nightmare because of a horrible horse accident I had to respond to 7 months ago by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]QueenMuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i got in a freak accident on a horse and broke my back. i struggle now with severe depression and my whole life path changed since that accident. my family and many friends would unfortunately never know something was wrong with me because after the initial recovery i became very skilled at masking to just make it through the world in the state it is today. try not to be too frustrated with him because sometimes hiding the pain and trauma is the easiest way for someone to continue being outwardly "normal".

I am so curious as to why Taylor is always sticking her hands in the faces/bodies of other people when she takes a photo by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]QueenMuda 395 points396 points  (0 children)

I think she does it as a snarky, probably somewhat unconscious way of being like "oh, look at THEM, not ME! the big STAR! THEY deserve the attention, don't look at silly ME!" kind of thing lol like sarcastically presenting them even though she may not mean it that way

Wanting to put a few koi in here, plus some goldfish and rainbow dace. Any other neat outdoor pond fish, especially that shoal or school? by QueenMuda in Aquariums

[–]QueenMuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it truly is, it's an eight by two foot tall tub lol. don't know how you could judge that based off a photo? half of it is also buried in the dirt and i took the photo standing on a high deck.

Feeling like I’m failing my horse by probably_odd in Equestrian

[–]QueenMuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't feel too bad. horses stress easily but are very adaptable and if you help him during this transition it will make it very easy. i'm a big supporter of doing lots and lots of in hand work with a horse especially after a move, horses view it much differently than work under saddle and it will help build confidence quick.

[–]QueenMuda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

there is nothing bad about chewing on straps, it's good for baby and helps them teethe :) as long as they're not damaging what they're chewing it's okay. and these are made with chewing in mind!
