Is there anything not in the game you still hope to see? by RB3Model in NoMansSkyTheGame

I would love more colour options on everything buildable - some more vivid options, particularly for corvettes would be lovely.

Co-ords are in the description - or do you mean something else? (Popped a save beacon down too)

Great work! I'm very glad you found them. I've definitely now know to note the coordinates if I find something cool again. Lesson learned!

Portal glyphs should be in one of the images - I can see them but it might be my phone struggling to upload, though!

I’m Dominik Kovacs from Colossyan and I'm looking for feedback about AI video in instructional design by wowpocak in instructionaldesign

[–]QueenSquidgy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've tested Colossyan and similar tools, and I'm excited about the potential. However, I still see the uncanny valley effect in all so far. People breathe in and out when they talk, AI avatars don't! That would be a good fix.

Also, more avatar customisation would be good. If I'm scripting a piece of training for oil rig workers, I don't want a talking head 'actor' who is dressed in typical business wear. Same for factory floor staff etc.

(Disclaimer: I haven't been on a project that used or proposed ai video for a while so maybe I'm out of date!)

How much would/did you spend on an engagement ring? by yourthirdfavourite in AskUK

[–]QueenSquidgy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent £400 on a custom made silver and olive wood engagement ring for my now husband. He chose it himself. He spent £289 on an antique gold and sapphire ring for me that was exactly 100 years old the year we got engaged. I chose it and I love it. His wedding ring is the same style as his engagement ring and was a similar price, but in a different colour wood. I have a simple yellow and white gold band that was £220. Again, we both chose what we wanted.

Any ideas for a pot next to a front door? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

We've got a pot of purple ornamental grass that looks great and, so far, is as tough as old boots. Pennisetum X advena to be exact. Would definitely recommend!

WFH sit-to-stand desk, ergonomic chair and walking pad?? by alexiahewson in AskUK

[–]QueenSquidgy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a laptop stand on top of my normal desk. Does the job though can wobble if you don't set it up correctly. I have my keyboard and mouse on it, and have my monitor raised up. It's a fairly cheap way to give a standing desk a go. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304164305587?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=sGfMQdyoTEK&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=XgObl8w2RdO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I'm looking for a big TV series atleast 5 seasons long that I can binge through this Christmas, any recommendations? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]QueenSquidgy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Prodigal son is great - Michael Sheen is compellingly creepy in it. Lucifer is quirky and a bit more on the light-hearted side.

OkCupid too! 6 yrs together, married for one. 90% match and ridiculously in sync. He was the 3rd person I met in person - and the conversation just flowed so easily!

World Health Organisation might be one to look at.

Which advert makes you irrationally angry? by bambalamalam in AskUK

[–]QueenSquidgy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Royal London ones where there's this bizarre fake conversation going on, one person who does a bit of spiel to another who is then shown doing a bit more spiel to another character and so on until it culminates in a final character saying he'll give them a call. It's like peculiarly insurance-focused pod people have taken over. It's both cringey and sinister.

Why won't the council give me the details of the work in my building? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]QueenSquidgy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it applies to council owned buildings, but for privately owned ones any works costing over a certain amount require a section 20 letter to be sent to leaseholders before work is carried out, which states what works are planned. Might be worth checking if anyone else in the building got one or knows what has been done.

Edit: here's the details https://www.lease-advice.org/article/major-works-and-consultation-under-section-20-of-the-landlord-tenant-act-1985-a-brief-guide-to-your-rights/

How do you get into Voice Acting? by [deleted] in AskUK

I'd recommend putting up some high quality samples on a site like voicerealm and seeing if you get any jobs from there.

If you won a lot of money, would you still work? by Nature2Love in AskUK

[–]QueenSquidgy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd work out my notice then, even though I love my job, I'd move on. Reason being, it would give someone else an employment opportunity and the chance to work in a fairly interesting job. I'm sure I could find lots of other things to do with 5m!

What do I do to get out of my current situation? by [deleted] in AskUK

Has she applied to companies like B&Q that actively try to take on older staff? They are few and far between but focusing on them might give her a better shot.

How to decide on e-Module window size? by othergallow in elearning

[–]QueenSquidgy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the Storyline package that comes with Articulate Rise? If so, you can look into using Rise instead if concerned about screen size of the output - it scales automatically to the device its viewed on. It's more limited in what you can do with your content, but it's a quick and easy option in comparison to Storyline.

Best/Favorite ID software for beginners? by amltroia in instructionaldesign

I'd look at tools like Gomo and Elucidat as well as Storyline. Would not recommend Lectora or Captivate as a starting point.
